Yes because if I am a losing player you always go up the slope you must not get discouraged.

Because you can always become a winning player.

Poker to me is a hobby. Even if I was a losing player I would still play as it is a game I enjoy and as with other hobbies (going to movies, bowling) I would be willing to pay. Of course I wouldn't play with funds I couldn't afford to lose, then it's just gambling.

Until now I do not see poker as a vice plus a diversion

Most of us are losing players in the beginning of our poker experiences. For us that are losing, its just a matter of time an effort, to win. Then the losing period is reduced to some degree. Over time, its all about learning the game and having fun....

I used to downhill ski....I was terrible, but I still enjoyed it. Poker can be the same. If I can make $200 last for 4 hours before I lose the entire stack, that's the same as seeing one of the top headliner shows in Vegas...cheaper actually; Elton John was $175 per ticket, at the back of the showroom.

this thead is foolish! most poker players are losing, its humanly impossible if alot of people are profiting, ur acting like aton of people here make money and that is a fallacy.

i play just because i enjoy the game, if u take poker serious then your just setting urself up for failure.

If I were a losing player, I would learn more about poker. I would not accept to be a loser in something and less in poker, where someone smart is a good player.

Do you think if you loose you are a bad player, or can some people have bad luck?

It's a hobby unless your dumb enough to be a "pro"

Consider it a lucrative hobby. The only hobby that pays you back.

I lose all the time in cash games. I clearly don't get the game at times. Tournament I do much better. I still don't consider myself good but I am up over the long run as far as tournaments go.

I probably would play even if I was a losing player. Sometimes I play mixed games and I am terrible at them but they can be a nice break from the regular MTTs, just for fun. I get insulted often when I play those. I'm like  :D

Same Here

I went through a lot of poker and realized for myself that I can not become a successful player who can earn poker for a living. Since the beginning of my poker career, I'm in a plus profit, thanks exclusively to multi-table tournaments. I view poker as an opportunity to play in major tournaments that can change your life, while if the buyin in the genre tournament does not play an important role in the current life, do not take such a chance in my opinion is stupid. Also poker is the only possible way so far, of repeatedly receiving money from nothing in gambling.

Ditto. I'll never make enough money playing, grinding, measuring my hourly profit for it to be a thing I do - I'm a software engineer, and I make > $60/hr - so I fiddle around with MTTs, and look forward to the bigger ones as a chance to pay for a vacation or new toy ;-)

I think it`s alot like baseball, their is a big difference between a player who gets a hit 3/10 times and a player who hits 2/10 times, and that`s what makes a player successful,;)

I am a break even player over the long term because I won't deposit and build a bankroll from free rolls. I am profitable with tournaments and sng's not so good with cash games.
