I recommend watching tutorial videos, and join poker schools.
I personally do not like poker books.

That's like asking for 1 book for cooking. (< what type of food?)

Nick Wealthall does poker training along with fellow poker pros like Kevin McPhee and a host of others who give alot of input also, some of it is very good and is free but then it's $40 a Month or sin like that to continue. Nick is a poker commentator and player himself but not a pro i don't think but he's apparently good online player and his training and books are tips he's passed on and learned also he and other pros will sit and talk strategy with you also if you take up his coaching and he gets alot of players signing up very fast for his training. He has books also i believe about allsorts of aspects of the game and how to be aggressive and 3/4bet stealing, etc and alot more, worth checking out. ;-)

Hello, if you are a novice player i recomand "play poker like the pros" phil hellmuth. for tournaments "Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time" [Eric 'Rizen' Lynch, Jon 'Pearljammer' Turner, Jon 'Apestyles' Van Fleet] it shows you the thinking process of a pro.
if you're familar with the game "let there be range" is a great book, there's a lot of concepts inside.
Good luck
