If it makes any of you feel a little better, it's not as good as it used to be.
LOL, thanks. Helps a little.
home of the brave? if you were so brave you would not have gotten poker banned
Bravery has nothing to do with it. That's just one of the consequences of living in a republic. Sometimes your representatives screw you. Or sometimes the representatives you voted for don't get elected. It happens. A lot. But if enough people fight back, over time, things change. That's just how it works.
my suggestion is you live your backwards country but im sure you do not want to give up your mcdonalds . . . but i would not mind moving to canada
What, Canada has no McDonald's? Talk about backwards!
As for debt, we are rapidly approaching $17 trillion, so yeah, that's becoming a real problem. Unfortunately, a lot of our current politicians in office don't think it's a problem. Then again, unlike many western European nations, we have the ability to print money at will, so maybe they're right. Who knows. I suppose we could stop giving money to various third-world nations and institutions such as the IMF, but I think our debt problems run much deeper than that. In my opinion, we need to stop playing world cop with our military. That would save us a lot of money for starters.
the american dream my friend is dead
No, it's still alive and well. Sure, it has changed a little over the years, but for the most part, people are still doing what they've always done. I just did a quick wiki search... In 2006 the United States accepted more legal immigrants as permanent residents than all other countries in the world combined. I'd say the US is doing alright. Sure, we can do better, but when has that ever not been the case?
