for some reason for about a week or so now whenever i open full tilt/ps/ub. im on permanent (connecting....trying again), seemed to happen after new software updates were downloaded on full tilt... I contacted full tilt support and they informed me that many others had been experiencing similar difficulties... I have allowed all poker software full access on my firewall... still nothing... ANYONE have any advice or help ??

I was gonna ask if you lived in Kentucky, but I see you live in canada. So scratch that. It seems Kentucky residents will all have this same problem very soon.

If nothing else, uninstall all poker programs then reinstall them

Nothing doing yet... I'm using pc tools free firewall (was using zone alarm at the time the problem occured) with windows firewall disabled on XP, don't know what SSL is?? I'm seriously boggled here my internet connection is fine as I can run my friends laptop on any poker site just fine.

Is Zonealarm still installed on the PC? If Srescan is still running and anything was disallowed it will still block it.

What operating system Vista can be tricky with some stuff, after updates.
Have you completely deleted all cookies and other internet cache? The other info still would be some help maybe though.

Yes but a better way is to do a disk cleanup with all checked except compress and index. IE 7 seems to have some trouble cleaning out everything.

SSL is what gives you access to secure sites, which all poker software requires for security reasons.

I get this more times than I like. Nothing worst than having the nuts then a disconnect. What! I still beleive it is a direct result of our multiple computers connected to one router. I have tried just about everything; Reboot, disconnect of the wireless, disconnect hub, router, both.

I still think the problem is directly related to traffic through my pipe and not the software.

i know exactly what it probly is. lol ....happened to me after i let my dad play poker on my computer while at work. well he downloaded the update and i dont know if it was norton or something else prompted "always block connections from this port" and your suppose to click "always allow connections to this port" he just clicked okay...took me like 3 days to get back on full tilt. You got to bring up the security program, find the list of allow/block or whatever its called. and click always allow.
I dont even think it was norton dont even think i had norton then...just something that came with my computer. it still asks me now everytime i d/l an update.
