Live limit game. A good friend of mine, who's logged in thousands of hands together, is the villain. We email, text, and talk about hands every day... so we both know exactly how we think, which lead to this ridiculous leveling:

Folded to me OTB, I raise JJ. Sb folds, BB calls.

FLOP (hu)
KK4 r
He c/r, I call. He could have absolutely anything, but I don't put him on K. My plan is to raise any turn... until ...

TURN
J (KK4) - giving me J's / full!

He leads. When I saw the turn hit, giving me a lock, I didn't raise, now actually wanting him around on the river. "I'll wait till the river," I heard a voice in my head. (Occasionally, I DO hear voices, but we'll leave that for my therapy session). :D

RIVER
Q (KK4J)

He leads again, which is exactly what I want. I raised, he looked at me, thought for a second, and 3-bet. WTF! My first read was he rivered Q's/ full K's, because he knows that I'd never raise that river w/out, at least a K. (I'd expect a 3-bet preflop, but HU, he may think I'm on a total steal... and want me to think he has nothing). Maybe he hit runner-runner str8? "I let you get there, didn't I," I asked him. He just gave me a cocky smile. I only called his river 3-bet.

Thoughts on the horrendously-played flop, turn, and river, plze. I may be the worst player in Northern America.

Results to follow...

QK, QQ.or KK, I think he has you. I would have also called the river to see.

Although i would have played the hand much differently, trying not to allow him to see the river.

I too think A 10, if he had you by the nuts he would push it to the limit. I am curious to the results of this hand. Sorta sounds like a sick hand for the both of you. But I dont put him on Q's Maybe KQ or A 10.

Stack sizes and bet sizes are important for this hand but I think from reading it that you FPS (Fancy Play Syndrome) got you in trouble. He check raised the flop and led the turn he is clearly not going away, just shove the turn and he will most likely call and have his QQ's crushed until the miracle river fills him up. In cases like this sometimes you can really mess up the other player by stepping down and just playing your cards instead of getting caught up in I know he knows that I know he knows...

You're 100% right. I should've (usually do) play this differently. But because it was him...

I knew what he knew what I thought he thought about what I knew his mother's uncle's father's brother knew when his mom thought about what we knew...
