I just turned 18, can I now legally play for money or can I now legally play for fun. I just want to make sure before I try and put $150 in that when I try to cash out they say I'm to young. Does being 18 simply mean that I would be ineligible to enter satellite tournaments to win real tourney seats?

Why don't you email support at the various sites you play on? And let us know what you hear from them.

You can play and cashout online. I've never heard what happens when someone 18-20 wins a live seat but I would just stay away from live seat satellites.

No you cannot play 'legally' online in the U.S. (None of us can.) But when you try to cash out you will not run into any trouble, they do not take age into account. I have been playing and cashing out since I was 16.

You can play online and cash out when you're 18. If you win a live seat that is played in the US then you need to be 21 to play but I think they just credit you with the money in most cases if you are not old enough. You can win a live seat for Europe and play it as it is 18 years of age to play live here.

Check the TOS on the site you play and the laws in your local state. I think many of the online sites state that you need to be legal in your local jurisdiction.

In the states you can... except for a few, I can't remember which... but anyways, I started playing poker online when I was 18... fun but dangerous, I think its tough to be mature enough at 18 to really play poker, the people that do it turn out amazing at the game though. Everyone else (including myself) are only fair micro players or donkeys.

Well I would not advise running out and putting money or making a deposit on any site, untill you have played and practiced and are sure of your game. There are many playchips games to give you experience. And before you join any site you might also want to consider rakeback. Happy birthday.

You do know that you don't get rakeback on play chips, right? lol. Actually, until you have money on a site, I would advise against signing up for rakeback, because you will get negative rackback for every freeroll you play(which will likely be a ton) and then by the time you do finally get some kind of roll, you won't be getting any rakeback anyway for quite some time. Instead, when you're joining a new site, just make sure your account isn't linked to any affiliates(just download directly from that specific site instead of going through a link that you clicked on from another site) and you will probably be able to get rakeback linked to your account later on down the road when you have a roll.

It is not illegal to play online poker in the US.

Even most Indian casinos have changed their age limit to 21.

This is true most everywhere in the states is 21 although there are exceptions.

In Wa state you can play in "mini-casinos"
