So I am a tournament player. That is my bread and butter. I know everyone talks about bankroll management and how much of their money should be spent. I had the idea of just depositing when i want to play certain tournaments. for example: i love to play on ACR, so on sunday I am going to deposit $50 to play in satellites to get into the 150K. if I make it, great. If i dont then I will just deposit $215 and buy straight into it. What do you all think?

Ya why not, if you have the money to spend and if you enjoy playing poker you might as well.

I think Im still practicing bankroll management. Im only playing specific tournaments that I can afford and not wasting money on cash games. Well, omaha is my favorite to play, but only live. The lower limit PLO games are nuts. If i do play cash, it'll be PLO and at least the $2/$4.

non taxed for 3 years is pretty awesome, but Im looking forward to the WSOPC and wsop. Thats when you all will see me kicking A$$ while wearing my cardschat shirts. Im going to have OpenTheCan stitched on the back above the Cardschat emblem. My first live tournament is Event#1 in West Palm Beach; $1,000,000 guaranteed; buy-in $580.

If you have deep pockets, and can deposit easy, fine. Problem in the US is how easy it is to deposit, and these days it is not easy.

hopefully there wont be a need for that. If all goes well they will be interviewing me:) And of course I will give a shoutout to my CC family. Im pretty excited. My brother is coming down to play with me too. I have that Christmas feeling when you are waiting for days to go by but they're going by so slow.

I'm still not sure if I'd want to make that many deposits and draw attention. It isn't solving the root of the problem anyways.

It is a pretty good idea but when you cash in the $215 tournament you would have money at ACR and might still be tempted to play cash games.

I think you have the false impression that your BR is the amount of money you have on a particular site. I know it's not unusual to find people who think this way, but mine is the total of all the money I'm willing to use for poker, no matter where it is.

If you define / count your BR this way, it's NP to deposit to play specific tournaments as long as the cost is within the BRM guidelines for your overall roll.

I disagree, to some extent. Some of my BR's are tiny, some large, and I have to take that into consideration when making game choices. For us in the US, depositing is a factor we unfortunately have to take into account.

So how did this go? Did you gain entry through satellite? Did you play the 150K? Depositing only guarantees that you are capable of losing. If you can't get a bankroll through sites like this and freerolls forget the dream.

Cash games are soooooooooo much more lucrative than MTTs. Variance is a huge factor in MTTs.

Cash games are my bread and butter. I play an occasional tourney, but I just like cash better. To each his own......

Good luck in your big tourneys. I wish you lots of run gooooooood.

I still remember sitting sunday mornings with all the cash regs with like 10k on the table in a 2/5...and all of us just staring and SALIVATING UNCONTROLLABLY when the donkament players strolled in.

It is good for someone to know their limitations in poker, but bad for cash gamers......

Honestly, its like YUM FRIGGUN YUM when they bust out and come to your cash table at the WSOP.

Only if you can play deep postflop and get away from TPTK for 150BB every time you are crushed.

.....donkament players brah.......donkament players.

(im talking live donkament players; do not get your dander up as im not referring to anyone on the board specifically in any way, shape or form)

Yes I don't mind playing (outplaying in some cases) postflop. The competition at most of the live cash tables I sit at is is extremely soft. Heck, I am no pro.... But I can outplay most of these people postflop unless they catch a monster.
