I have a tilt problem. I can play for several hours in a tournament or cash game than all of a sudden I get It in my head to bluff these players that are playing crap hands and puff there goes all my chips. I need to learn to be more patient and just play my cards not worry about these other players that are playing 92s and such. because that is when i lose. I need to stop thinking that I need to be in 1st place all the time. I have to get over this tilt if i can I will become a great player. I do great til i hit tilt. Do you have this problem or have had this problem? How did you overcome it and become a winning player. Please share you experience with tilt and how you overcome it. thanks

It is normal at the beginning, remember that poker is a mental game and if the desperation overcomes you, you will lose many chips.

I got over it, playing S&G tournaments, I knew that these didn't last long and I learned how to adapt myself little by little to longer tournaments like turbo.

Ive had the same problem. Im trying to not focus on what place im at the moment, how many players still playing and how much time until late registration ends, if there is one. Dont look at the lobby all the time, just play. If you must look how many players still in game and what is your position just wait to the 5 min break and then look, think about strategy untill bubble and payoff and will be ok.

Hi.
When I play poker, I am primarily trying to make the right decisions and control emotions. I play poker for about three years, and I can conclude that patience and discipline come with experience.
Good luck.

I can recommend to read the book "mental game of poker" by jared tendler. If you read carefully and actually do the steps mentioned there it will help you to improve your mental game (tilt is part of it). At least for me it was helpful.

Not so much tilt for me, but get tired after playing 3 hours. I try to get up during the 5 min break...but never seems to last long enough. All you can do is keep practicing. And focus.
