I hate those days when....

I don't get any good cards, none, zero, nada !!!!

then when i get a semi decent hand i get a big raise preflop... or when i finally get a good hand and due to my stack size end up going all in, someone else has a better hand.

what to do in these cases ?, just stop playing ?

Yesterday for example, it happened in a 9 person SnG, out of almost 50 hands I saw 7 flops, from which at least 4 times I was the big blind. At the end I got blinded out not because of lack of aggressiveness but because of lack of decent cards..., then i played a tourney and was card dry for almost an hour then being short staked i got 99 in the button, i go all in, big blind shows QQ. And now similar story, card dry for a while , short stack i get AK, raise, get a caller, hit an A on the flop put the rest of my stack and the other one shows AA...

I just hope it ends soon....

Yes i know exactly how those kind of days go especially if your playing a sng mtt or freeroll,it can become quite frustrating for me as well,I honestly recomeend a break of extended time at least a few hours or a day

i got 2nd in a SNG not getting a better hand than A6

its possible

i just played tight and still folded those mediocre hands and just picked my spots well, I presented a tight table image so I was able to get away with pre flop re raises very well and add to my stack

I may have had pocket nines once but I raised on the button and the blinds folded

Just gotta know how to lay those strong hands down when you know you are beat...

most people know what I am talking about

when you are dealt AA and facing an all in river bet, and you know you are beat but call anyways because its AA

I hate those months where you get nothing but crap cards.

Problem is though, you never know when your luck is going to change - so whether you stop playing or not doesn't really make a difference unless you think the bad run of cards is affecting how you play your game.

Well the situation improved a bit today.......

Until i was in the bubble at a SnG ( 3 people left ), with the big stack raising every fukking time, I kept folding and folding, until i got K9 suited and thought that was good enough given that he had shown horrible cards and was raising with anything..... so the only time I call his all-in, he shows KK.....

You have to be able to believe that being card dead doesn`t matter. Success or failure at poker is not about today, it`s about the long term.

Everyone gets those kinds of days. Just shrug them off and tell yourself that tomorrow will be better.

If you feel that the frustration is putting you on tilt, stop playing for the day and do something else. Don`t throw good money after bad.

Remember it works the other way too. In the end, it all evens out and you will have days when everything seems to go your way.

I played the HORSE tourney on stars tonight and didn't have one hand to play until I got to E (Stud hi-low). Frustrating but not much you can do in a limit game. In no limit, like burrito says, you just need to work on image and picking your spots well. The cards are less important.

Yeah I need to vent after the last couple days too. In the last 48 hours I have lost significant chips on 8 hands were it was my QQ vs their KK (4 times), my QQ vs their AA(1 time), and my KK vs their AA (3 times).

Oh and I had AA beaten by JJ once for good measure.

I also had a SnG were I survived into the 6th round and the best two starting hands i got ALL TABLE were AJ offsuit and a pair of sixes.

Just been one of those awful stretches =/

Oh and I can't hit a single flush draw for anything (although opponents seem to hit it every time.. Love the donk that called an all in with nothing but a low flush draw vs 2 pair and hits)

Sometimes it's a struggle to remind myself that these people really are where most of my profit come from.

On those days where you don't know whether to defecate or go blind, try this. Close one eye and fart.
