It sad when you play in a tournament, get down to the bubble, and 2 people work together one giving the other chips so he doesn't get eliminated. I played in a 5 card draw trny this morning on PS and Somnoodle purposely discarded 444 and drew nothing so the other could acquire chips. Somnoodle typed that he had 444 and when his cards were revealed he had ace high, and the other said "you've given me too many already". I may lose, but at least I play honestly!!!

Take the hand history that will include the chat and send it to Stars support. They will review and then get out the ban hammer as needed.

There is actually 2 violations here. 1. Collusion and 2. Discussing a hand in play. If you don't have the exact hand, get the tourn ID and approx time of the incident and the other players ID's and send to PS support. They will review it and take action against them if appropriate.

This certainly needs to be reported. If you have the HH, perfect...if not, the details of the time of the game should be enough for Stars to take care of this.

I have seen this happen quite a few times on a few different site it is very illegal but it is done all the time and if the people doing it are good no one would be the wiser i do not condone it by any means but most of the time hard to monitor

I have also seen a rise in this lately...I just keep the table #'s and report them. I know UB is very prompt on dismissing people who use colusion, and am sure other sites are the same.

You need to take a screen shot of the chat and report it to support. Moderators are just for chat that is offensive.:):)

It seems like everyones seeing it... we should all report it everytime it happens now so it can stop

I am sure it will never stop but it will cut down the number of people doing it if it is reported to someone i have even heard of a few people that due it using private chat so it is a problem that will go on forever but atleast we can stop the ones that we can catch red handed

This occurred with me but weren't cheat.

I was played at the PokerStarts tourn and i was talked with a friend but in Portuguese.

I guys said me it wasn't permitted but I ignored his, +/- 5 minutes later... The support team appears at the table and inform me that if i don't stop to talked in Portuguese i will be banned to the tourn...

There is no easier site to report stuff on than poker stars. I believe there is an 'options' buttons close to the top of the table, in the center. Click on that, then 'call moderator'. You don't even have to describe the problem. They just go through the whole chat & figure it out. If this ever happens to anyone again, let the villains know immediately that this is collusion and that you've already reported them. This will serve 2 purposes - 1) hopefully stop them in their tracks, and 2) make it easier for the mods to ascertain the problem. If they start getting abusive, they will likely be banned that much quicker.

it seems i replyed to this at another forum, and the reply was to report it. i hate cheaters too as probably everyone else. this was several years ago
but a heard of how college students would gather in one room with thier laptops and play at one table, mostly this would be a scam, same difference, but i never heard any more of it i'm sure it can be tracked somehow? it's a scarry thought though. these students would know each others hand and out raise everyone and ofcourse split the winnings. ever heard of such a thing? if there's a way to cheat, cheaters will find it. it's thier pathetic nature. sooo :(

man! your totally off! a cheater would never admit to cheating and would never give hints to it! the person was obviously lieing to make a show... this is my point of view at least. Do you think someone would be cheating and then tell everyone what he did?? come one lol

I have seen a case where "chip dumping" has taken place and admitted. It happened of all places at an OFC event final table. The big stack, after reraising a fellow forum member ( not this one ) was reraised all in by the other "buddy" it would have cost him 30 chips to call the all in for a pot worth over 18,000, and he folded. The rest of the table and the observers went ballistic, and the guy said "I'm not taking out one of my own team", one said he was informing "Wolf" right away. No idea what happened but I have never been back to that forum since, I have no desire to be associated with them.

You should report any kind of collusion, I've had it happen to me before and it is not fun when you realize that by no fault of your own the odds are now stacked against you. This happened to me in a $2 sit n Go at FT where the 3 other players didnt like my raises so they started working together until i was knocked out eventually by one of them on the river. I dont think I have to mention that I was less than pleased with the results by finishing out of the money.

Markpro, you sound like you talk from experience? I guess some cheaters are just too bold, or stupid, or both. It did happen and they were cheating. Apparently, I not the only 1 that this has happened to.

report whatever you have

Even if you don't have any game info- give their names. It may help to build a case against them in the future. Also, is it o.k. for their names to be posted here? I'd be happy to pass them on. Fish

I agree with everyone of you. Collusion is not to be tolerated. As for Markpro's comment, he could be right that the player was lying but any mention of your hole cards for the present hand whether true or not isn't ethical playing.

I've talked to guy where i'm from that do this on stars. They get together with their laptops, each with a diff i.p addy and play together. Nice when you just have to beat 6 other people at the S&G!!! To think i might be playing with those types at any given table makes me like the live game more and more.

Even if you forget to note the hand history or for some reason you can't find the hand number - if you include the tournament name, buy-in and time (and maybe the name of other players) then they can find the chat history and thereby locate the specific hand

You can still get your hand history and send it to the poker site. Then there will be two less cheaters there! :D GL Raine!

Wait i dont understand?? If I am 3 left in a tourney and I have say 10,000 chips, someone has 5,000 chips and someone has 500 chips, Im going to fold to the 500 chip stack a lot b/c I want to take a lot of chips from the 5,000 chip guy knowing that he doesn't want to come in 3rd when someone else is so short. I don't understand the chat that you are talking about, but if the big stack is just folding to the small stack and trying to take chips from you while you don't want to go out 3rd that is fine. If they were telling each other their hands and the best one was going in then that is collusion. Ive folded KK to a person with 300 chips in the BB at the end of a tourney where blinds were 100/200 since i wanted him to stay in so i could boss around the mid stack guy.
