Hi everybody, I was searching how to deposit funds on poker stars with paypal. Google sent me here. I use to be a forum member a few years ago. I learned how to play good poker, Hold 'Em, because of the people here. Thank you, I had a great experience learning the ways of the shark.

I made a deposit of $10 tonight. It's not much, but I'm just playing for fun anyway. I just wonder if my skills are high enough to turn $10 into $20. If they are I'll see where the next check point is. I don't plan playing a lot. At most I'm suspecting about 1 to 2 hours a day max. Also at the stakes I'm playing, $1.50, it's going to take a long long time to build a credible role. Like I said, I'm playing for fun.

That's all I have to share for now. I'll update if something comes to mind. While I was writing this I was in the middle of a Sit N Go, the style I like playing, 9 man, and now I'm at 10X push/fold. I like how some of my internal triggers are still alive, and that I can still notice what position I'm in. Have a good night, and remind yourself why you started playing. Your reasons might be different than mine, but remember that it's a game so might as well have fun.

Hi every body, Thanks for the warm words. They mean a lot to me.

So what happen to that $10 I started with? Well, it's all gone. I played as best as I could but my dreams never came true. Maybe next year. hehe

Something that peaked my interest was this. When you don't have a big enough role all the loses that are bound to happen become too important. They mess with your head and throw you off your game.

When you start doing the math it comes out something like this, "Okay. I can play 4 more games before I'm out of money. I better make these next games count!" At that point, it's too late. Just reload or stop playing until you can. You're already in your head. And I think we can all agree, that that's the last place you want to be while sitting at a table.

On a side note. I felt like playing again. I might take a shot at real money again, but for tonight it's just play time.

Good luck to all of you.

Take care,

Not true. I have started with nothing to minimal a lot of times and still bring it up to couple hundred usually. Yes you are right though, with that minimal amount you are very likely to bust. Carbon I started with $5. Havent played much on there lately think it is around 20ish right now still. FullFlush nothing, won $20 in one of these freerolls. It is sitting at 57ish. Now yes with that minimal amount you are very likely to bust. So what do i do? First off, don't grind it out that small. You don't have enough. If you are having bad swing and just lost 2-3 games in a row. STOP. Take a break and analyze. Maybe get on later or even next day. I take days off at a time sometimes. I havent played in 4 days. Today was first day back and still only played the CC decathlon. My suggestion depending what site you are playing at. Go for DoNs until you have atleast $20. If those arent available SnGs I would do. I don't know you gotta have high winrate at start with that small of a bankroll. You can turn it into something though. I have turned 0 into couple hundred couple times on different sites. The key is you gotta look at your stakes. Remember it is gonna take AWHILE before you start seeing the results. But don't look at it as a money wise. Look at it more of a win rate and the way you play. If I think about the money, bums me out. If I look at it in a different way, like oh hey, i won 7 out of 10 games. Not bad. Except when I play DoNs on carbon I am only gaining .88 a win and losing 1.10 a loss. So seems like I am not winning much at start. I am stronger in MTTs though. So I usually just build up bankroll with DoNs and SnGs while I play a few MTTs here and there and try to bink them. Hope that helps. Also, remember at those stakes simple ABC poker can work very well. They don't usually know any better.

Great point about how being under-rolled can tend to cause tilt. Better to deposit a reasonable bankroll and play your game, or start with nothing and freeroll it up until you have something to work with.

Welcome back. As the song says, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. :thrasher: :)
