See thats why the cheaters are idiots, they have to fold some hands, which even though they are winners, without knowing the opponents hand look like crap.

Oh, and cheating is wrong.

odds on this turning out to be a hatchet job on online poker as a whole?

We're obviously not going to see it over here but the facts of the case are already public record.

Comments in the link are well amusing, BTW :p

this story is going to portray poker in such a bad light, it will discourage new ppl (new fish) from playing and that makes me sad :(

Thanks. I set my DVR to record it. Should be interesting.
This can not good for online poker though. :(

I'm interested to see if they highlight the security precautions that other sites have implemented.

Well they are interviewing guys on our side, and apparently they did the best they could to help portray us in a good light. Now it's up to the editors over at CBS. Do they feel like trashing online poker or are they going to try to give a fair and balanced honest view?

Yep :p

I gather it was filmed during the wsop in July and was originally scheduled to run during the election campaign. Guess they thought it was more important to cover that and delayed it.

$2.05 to show. I already clicked on a post-interview interview where the 60 minutes commentator keeps referring to online poker as an illegal activity.

There will be a link on 60 minutes website the day after it airs to stream it. If no one beats me to it, I'll post it here when I get home from work on Monday.

(Damn secured networks at work--can't get to email, forums, or anything related to poker :)

Also: Washington Post investigative reporter Gilbert M. Gaul answers your questions about his reporting on Internet gambling, joined by Serge Ravitch, an online poker player and one of the "detectives" in the Absolute Poker scandal.

The final edition aired last night and included info not publicly released till about 3 weeks ago, that being the only named perpetrator in the scandle.

The overall story, IMO, was tilted toward the scandal (not good), but did point out the self policing qualities of the internet poker community. Not as bad as I feared, but for anyone not sticking to the whole story, they will only have seen the scandal part.

That's a bit of a rose-tinted view. Tilted towards the scandal? What I saw was that the scammers made about $20 mil from players, a poker pro involved, and no criminal investigation in progress and none likely because no-one has jurisdiction over Kanhwake. That's pretty shocking. Basically we game on these sites at our own risk and with no come-backs.

Video available on Pokertube btw.
