Let's hear some of your successful reads.

I made a raise.
Villain thinks about it for a while, and seems annoyed at me.
Staring at me, trying to read me.
Finally, he pounds the table and says "You've got NOTHING, I'm calling"
What this told me what that HE'S got nothing also.
He was just calling to spite me.
So, in the next round, I "C-bet" and raised 50% yet again.
He folded.

Another read at the table last week:
Guy goes all in.
Next guy is thinking for a few minutes.
The guy who went all in says "I've got 2 pair"
The caller says "WHy would you tell me that, if you DID have 2 pair?
You're not trying to save me money. This is poker."
He called and won with top pair.

A loose agg. kid goes all in against me in a tourney. I wait a few seconds and call. Why, he had been leaning on the rail then as I wait he leans back and crosses his arms. I read this as weakness.

Shaking hands= big hand
When a girl puts her hand on her neck she is nervous = bluff
When someone looks at the board just as it comes out then looks at their chips = they really like their hand
When someone's mannerisms seem weak = they have a big hand
When someone's mannerisms seem strong = they have a weak hand

Agreed, when women are nervous she reaches for her neck, center of collarbone area, but for a man its the back of his neck. Although this rarely happens at the poker table as its a pretty distinct action and most men will catch themselves. I sometimes like to act like I am shaking if I bluff, and all the novice players instafold. Sometimes Mike Caro's big book of tells can work to your advantage.

heres some tells I look for from amatuers.....

When someone has a big hand they will give the "story"

When they have a bluff they will remain quiet and look away, and if you ask them something they will say something

Nits will never fire 2 barrells if they havent hit, and if you check-raise them they will always believe you hit their draw (they are the ultimate pessimists) but are super aggressive

Loose Aggressive players and DONKS will slowplay big hands, and Fast play draws or bluffs.....

thats all I can think off right now

I played against a guy who would lean forward in his seat when he had a flush draw.

The first time I noticed it he showed down J4s for two pair and I couldn't figure out why he seemed to like the flop so much. Bottom pair doesn't make most people happy. But after an hour or so it was clear. He was loose plus add any two suited. He showed down an 8 high flush. All kinds of broken draws that lucked out. He was on a roll.

I finally scored a good pot off him just before we were leaving. I had AT spades, I raised he called. Two spades on the board and he leaned in. So I leaned back and checked. Even after the check raise he had to call the river bet. He loved those baby flushes.

never expected this

well something strange and totally unexpected has started to happen with my poker and I always thought this impossible.

playing live today I was picking up tells and ive noticed I am now able to do this pretty well. been on the autistic spectrum I always assumed id never be able to do this.

on one major decision which was a very tough decision after they had moved all in I showed my hand before making a decision to get a read. The casino where I am at has the rule that you can show your hand at any point if its heads up but if you do so you can only call you cannot bet.

but since they had moved all in now this was irrelevant. I showed him hand then stared him down then he gave it away and I knew I was good so I called. I was right he had KK I had KQ board was AJJ106 with three diamonds.

this guy had been playing weirdly and in my opinion bad he raised pre and I called with position he checked to me on the ajj board and I figured he could be checking a pair scared of the flop, so bet out. turn came 10 diamonds making the flush as well as the straight. I had the k of diamonds behind he suddenly bets out big. this seems strange, I figure no point in raising as can only push of worse hands better hands never folding and I don't need to worry about draws only river cards I fear is another j or ace. river is 6 spades so blank he shoves all in its for my tournament life.

play really doesn't make sense I figured a range of hands been AA JJ AJ JK Jx Ax and 1010.

ive called the turn bet so I have to have something and he has to know I have something I mean im not calling on a paired flush board with air.

he has been playing bad and weird so its hard decision.

he had KK as I said I came close to a lay down but read him.

if autistic people can now read tells then isn't tells in life poker really easy for anyone that bothers to pick up?

So you believe that an autistic person can't excel at picking up reads?

considering that most reads should be based on body language and emotional expressions, I would have thought it would be much harder for them/me.

I notice I pick up on more reads then most do, go figure.

well he did look nervous but that doesn't usually mean much as people have had the goods and looked nervous the big thing was how he varied between trying to look at me and looking away I don't know how to explain it I know that's not abnormal so to speak but he was much more so with trying to keep look at me and looking away into the distance.

Somehow along the line it seems you have picked up the opinion that Autism is a handicap.

I suggest that Autism, along with Hyperactivity are tools used by the true learners. A blocking of the outside minutia, allowing more time for concentration and puzzle solving.

I also suggest that folks with Autism, and Hyperactivity always have some pool of Savantism.

Autism Research Institute has gone so far as to say that the field of cognition will be incomplete unless more light can be shed on the phenomenon of autistic savants.

My problem is that I would never be able to lay down a straight.
I would have snap-called. Lost to to a flush the other night b/c of this.
But, I';d rather go down swinging with a straight then fold a good hand.
