It seems too young to make a debut at casino.
However, it´s late make a debut to play poker to be a great player. Because they (14 yo guys) don´t have more potentials to improve their mathmatic brains than 3 yo kids. Besides this, 3 yo kids have 18 years to learn & have experience until 21 yo.

All kinds of game professionals (baseball, football, chess, darts & more) made their debuts before 10 yo or more younger.

I DO NOT think age is a problem to start playing poker ... I mean after you come of age (18 years old) you can start playing poker .... I have seen great players of all ages, colors and sizes ...

Well, if you really need poker money, manipulating people is part of how many players do it. You don’t want your kid involved in ‘real’ street poker, where people try and encourage losers to lose more than they would otherwise and are nasty to others to get them off their game. From a purely cognitive standpoint, I guess its like chess, the younger you start the better you have the potential to become.

I think poker is a sport, but poker is also a gamble.
Therefore, I believe that only adults can play poker.

I heard Doyle Brunson say once in an interview that certain early experiences in life prepares you to be a good poker player. I don't think 10 to 15 year olds have had enough life to be good at poker, I'm not talking about general skills, but about mental toughness and discipline which are key component of the game and overlooked by many and they might be what separates winners from losers.

For a START, 14 is not too young because you need to gain experience. However, I highly doubt this early age could bring notable results. But to start, yeah, it is not too early to start.

I think that a 14-year-old does not have the maturity necessary to face a career in poker, perhaps with 18 years a little more mature and aware he could start playing for real money, but before that I think it would be bouncing money The trash

I think only adults should play poker. If children do play, they should not play for money.

It's never too early to play poker. after all, chess is played by very young children.

You can play poker at any age, but playing poker for real money needs to be controlled.:)

I will start teaching my child from the age of 12. This is a normal age.

If you aren't playing on money then 7+ yr old is pretty normal in my opinion, because its game of fun and you have to think with your brain so its not that bad for underage people.

Young people have a lot of different problems to solve and poker should not be one of them!

I don’t think it’s like being too young for a card game. Of course you have to play for money or in a poker room for a certain age, but you can play with friends in a matchstick or cola cap for any age. It is no accident is called a card game. Fun but of course only without a bet.

13 years old is good time to know the basics of the game as to start playing any card game.

I think playing poker for fun is fine. But playing with money when 14 years old is certainly too young. I start playing poker when I begin to study at the university and I feel it is a good time to begin to play.

Playing poker is fine at any age, its a card game! Playing for money is another thing altogether.
However when I was a kid, we used to have family games for pennies and dimes. Not poker mind you, it was a game called 31 if I recall. I don't really remember it too well. A big night was maybe a few bucks won.

Play poker? As soon as they can remember the hierarchy of winning hands.

Win at poker? As soon as they understand math. If they can't stack the odds in their favor then they will lose a lot.

There should be poker clubs in high school.

Good luck !
