How Old Were You When You Started Playing Poker?

I learned how to play poker when I was 19 .. But I only played for play money ... Two years later, I saw advertising for PokerStrategy for the first time and then I learned what real poker is

I guess I started when I was about 25. Just playing mostly for fun. I started playing online at about 35. Trying to make a career out of it now but it doesn't look good for me

I LOVE this question. It is so fun to hear how all of us found an enjoyment in the game of something as simple as a little box of cards or a pair of dice....LOL

My earliest memory is when I was probably 8 or 9 years old. My father had 11 brothers and sisters who all had children(my cousins).


The women were mostly factory workers and the men construction workers.


On Saturday we would load up in the back of our pickup trucks and all go to Grandmas house. We would all take a dish and have this amazing dinners.


Well right after dinner the smell of coffee would begin to permeate threw the house and the already stretched out 4 leaf table would be cleared and cleaned and that is when the fun would begin....


Everyone brought there chain jars and the cards would start to glide around the table as if they rode on an invisible plain just inches above the table...LOL


Laughs and memories were had on an epic scale!


To this day I still find the game to be one of the most fascinating and exploratory events a small group of people can have.

I started playing poker at the age of 19 and at pokerstars in 2010. I am now 50. My game is a great pleasure.

I started playing poker when i was 19, went to local clubs/tables. Also participated in our regional tourney. I've been doing that for 4years i made some little profit, than i decided to stop. I've been on "break" from poker for like 1 and a half year. Now i'm 25 and i literally started playing poker 2weeks ago when i first joined this forum. I'm only playing online poker now and mainly playing MTTs and i really enjoy it.

I started playing late, at 27

I was 48 years old when I started to play poker . Play 10 years . Since then I became a drug addict !

About 15 found texasl holdem game and it become my favorite game now I'm playing over 10 years and is still fun winning or loosing.

I started playing in my 20's with friends and family but only started NLHE about 15 years ago and now that's pretty much all I play. Online mostly but occasionally live. Definitely pays to study and learn the strategies of the game. Now I'm retired and playing more than ever!

I'm 29. i've been playing poker for 8 year.

I was in my late 30's. This was because of the hockey strike and I was looking for some recreational time.

I have been playing poker for 13 years and i was 25 years old when i started playing.

I started playing around 1980 when I was 25 or so. Home games with friends and such. Played online until black friday hit and just recently picked it back up again last year. Now that I'm retired I have been spending a lot of tome working to improve my game and have seen positive results. Still have a long way to go but I'll get there. Hope to see ya on the felts!

15, once I turned 16 I played in bars, bowling alleys and pool halls. Wish those places still existed.
