I was playing a 8$ 18man tourney where the top 5 got a 24$ token and 6th got 14$.
I was most likly going out on the next hand if this guy had just folded his hand, but he couldnt fold AA and i got a token.
Can any one explain his thought process? He was guaranteed(as much as i possible in poker) to tie for first why whould he do something as stupid?
And i love the the big stack 84o push :D

Ah, the perfect hand example to fold Aces. Anyone who says there is no way they would EVER fold aces here is a clear reason why, nothing gained everything lost. As to why, clearly not a member of Cardschat...;)

Well that Fillmore was too lucky... Anyway he was a big underdog...

Plain luck, that's all...

would be interesting (but impossible) to find out a) how quickly he called and b) whether he was multi-tabling.

if he's playing 4+ tables, then he could have just glanced, seen AA and thought - woo hoo. HU with AA.

wonder whether the 84o went on to win?

It was a satellite 5 $24 tokens and $14 to sixth place, if was multi-tabling then he needs to stop as it is -ev for him.

It's shocking how few players really know how to play satellites. I once saw a guy go out on the bubble 1 hand before the shortstack was about to be anted out. (not blinded, anted!) And the SS was sitting out, so the guy was guaranteed a ticket, but he couldn't fold AK to an early position shove. :D

He was probably just trying to steal the blinds. You can't have a hand everytime. Need to steal sometimes.

It's a sign of a unhealthy attraction to nice looking hands.

This same instance happened to me months back, yet I folded the AA, thinking it was the right thing to do. When I asked my friend about it, he started flipping out halfway through my telling...I don't event think I ever finished the analysis, past "I folded b/c..."
Another disgusting example of Full Tilt's bad beats!!!
I definitely blame the site too.

I couldn't agree more...The only thing you can do if another one is all in and you have pocket 84 is....FOLD!!!!!Filmore was a lucker and nothing more...

If I am reading it correctly Filmore went all in first:eek:
That is just crazy and he is very lucky.

^^ Fillmore is the big stack with two middle of the road stacks to act, that is an easy steal with ATC...He is at this point gauranteed a seat all the pressure is on the middle stacks to survive, so they should have folded with Sindri sitting there M<1. The prize doesn't improve for the chip leader it is still just a token, he just wants someone to bust out nad here if they had both called it is over no matter what.

Yeah, I hear ya on that one. If you're that guy, you must be drinking, or way too confident. There is a time to fold, whether you have AK or AA, and that was one of them.
