play within a limit your comfortable,

if you have 200.00 and you lose 50 in 3 hands its going to be painful, and more than likely end with bad decisions

if you had 2,000 and you lost 50 you could afford to lose that another 8,9 times and you would still have 1,500 which is alot of ammo for a bankroll

there's a lot of different type of tilts most common tilts are the anger tilt, there's also a running good tilt where you feel invincible, the boredom tilt, and the personal life tilt bad day gf troubles etc:

The personal life tilt is hard to avoid especially if its something big, the other tilts you just gotta play your game and know this game has swings, sometimes however you just got to take a break.. take a shower watch a comedy take a nap

If your in a tournament and can't leave after losing a big pot you'll just have to do your best to just play your game and remember you can't control the past so stay focused on the present

Read Jared Tendler's book 'The mental game of poker'. He uses a technique called injecting logic, I wont try and explain it here but I guarantee it will help you immensely

Only be concerned with getting your money in good and not the outcome of the hand. If you consistently get it in good you WILL win over time. Also bankroll management is huge. Good luck.

It's all mental. You have to know going in you won't always win, you will lose and sometimes you'll lose big, you have to be able to eliminate the $ signs from your mind and focus on playing good sound poker. You can't chase losses, you can't try to make up all your losses with one big swing. You have to trust the math and that as long as you continue to make the right decisions you'll wind up on top.

Poker is just as much a mental game as it is a numbers game. If you aren't sharp, if you're steaming over something that happened 10-15 minutes ago you're going to miss important information, important information that could climb you out of hole, win you a big pot, etc. etc. etc. Once a poker hand is done in the midst of action don't dwell on it for too long, maybe put a few notes in your brain on it but move on and pay attention to the current action. Then when you're done for the day or the session, go back to that hand, go over it, review it, ponder it. Could you have done something differently? You're in control of your own emotions at the table and that includes tilt. Don't let it get you.

This question reminds me of a similar question "How do i stop procrastinating?". There's no sure fire method to stop tilting, it's just a decision that you make for yourself. Getting upset at a situation doesn't change the situation. All that happens is that you continue to play poker, only now you're knowingly making worse decisions. Just stop playing or stop tilting. You have the power to control it.

It is only clay chips when it is on the table.
I tend not to think of the money aspect to some degree.
If I do take several beats in a short time I get up walk away deep breaths. grab a beverage and just gain composure till the next hand.

The most important thing is

the money you lost is already lost. There is no time machine or magic hat or whatever , that could tricky return you lost pot back.

if you feel uncomfortable to play, stop and leave table , as quickly as possible.

Everyone goes tilt once a while, but if you are not on tilt on poker table, so it is OK.

the best way is , NOT LET TILT HAPPEN ON TABLE, let tilt happen when you are watching sports , eating ice cream, listen to pop ,etc.

the rule is.... Breathe in.. breathe out. Seriously focusing on calm, steady breathing does the trick for me

There is no medicine for tilt except new good hand and winning the lost chips.

Someone else said it, but it's worth repeating... play within your means. If you can afford to easily loose the money in front of you it's much easier to play well and not go on tilt!

Another trick that helps me is to think of every session as part of an ongoing game instead of an individual session. When I do this I can loose a couple buyins and still realize that I'm way way up in the game.

Stop caring about short-term results, they are meaningless. That means not celebrating a big single session win in the same way it means not getting mad when you get sucked out on a bunch in one session.

Some people can control it some like me, cant.. if you have a small bankroll and you lose a hand it can cause bad decisions but that is normal, its all about learning to accept the random cards and building it into your game to make you a better player

I control myself sometimes, but more often than not, I think that kind of in control but still do not correct solutions. you need to train yourself
