After doubling my bankroll in April and May, I went on a complete slide losing almost all my winnings in June. I wimped out and stopped playing cash games and played freerolls instead. Although I made a couple of final tables in July, I realized that I blew a lot of time playing FR's and my profit per hour is greatly reduced. So I went back to playing cash games in July and now I am only 10% down from my peak. I think if I just stuck to playing correctly and not worried about the cash part I would have done a lot better and probably could have doubled my bankroll at its peak by now. I looked back and discovered that I was playing my hands better when I was losing than when I was winning. Having the ability to hang in there when you are losing is a real asset if you can pull it off. I hope that I can make it through my next losing streak this way.

I think the only solution about really enjoying your game and letting yourself loose without any stress about losing your money is firstly not to deposit any money at all and play only freeroll winnings(that way if you loose, you're not going to loose pocket money) and secondly doing a serious bankroll management...Play only what you can afford and deciding over an amount that your character and stand without thinking over it more than one time..

how the pros do it...

Well, we all go through some loosing months... as well as the pros... Lee Watkinson is on 56 tournament loose streak over at Full Tilt...

how do they cope with it... well, they turn to ring games... all of the pros, such as Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, David Benyamine... all play the high stakes ring games... because of all the money they can make... but don't get me wrong some of this players can also loose a lot of money... they have to adjust their play accordingly...

so that might be a good technique to follow... play some ring games... and from your winnings at the tables... take 20% to play tournaments or sit-n-go's ...

Good Luck at the Tables...
