In the overall I am down like 80k in the 4 years I been playing

Dont worry, you will probably earn it back in about 25 years at the small stakes level. Dont forget to reload. :)

I basically learned poker by playing for money online ( about a year or two in .. joined some forums and that helped my play allot ) . So needless to say I lost allot.

Learning poker that way I do believe made me a better player than I would have been if I read and studied. There is no substitute for getting better than simply just playing. I also have bad BRM so that cost me to. My last venture I am up over 2 grand with just over two months of play. But I don't keep good enough track to give an exact number.

I'm even I believe, mostly played on pokerstars and lost total of 5k in 4 years playing.
Though I've won a big prize at actionpoker which makes it even/little profit.
I see in the statistics my earnings are improving and I do not upload any money since begin this year. So its only possible to make more profit from now on :)
And I won a tshirt from CC :)

So I started with $10 about last years. made $170 in withdrawals. That was online. Funny though everyone says that it is easier to win live than online.

I never played at a casino (none nearby me currently) however I have played a live game with some coworkers and they were pretty damn terrible besides my friend that was with me.

Recreational players that are at the Vegas casino to get drinks and socialize don't drive or fly all the way to Vegas just to fold, fold, fold. They want to play as many hands as possible.

I spent $1.
First game I played online was a $1 mtt with ~1,000 entrants ('THe Ferguson' on FTP). ~5.5hrs. later I took 2nd for $114
Was a marginal losing SNG player for a couple mos. but got quite addicted to learning this game & it's been + since.

except when I first started and did a some deposits (and I sucked)
I have only spent time
about 80million hours

Ive done a lot of $0 to hero
and riches to rags too
deposting is not a bad thing,
especially when you dont waste your time with freerolls, donkaments and micro madness
Ive still many small bankrolls I use from no deposit
pokers a hoppy, hobbies cost money
not many hobbies make you money;)

A lot of this is from memory but as I recall I had a slow leak for the first few years I played and was probably down about $2000. I seemed to have put it all together around 2008 and by Black Friday I was up about $1000. Most of that came from Mixed games and a lot of $1/$2nlh so even though I was technically up I was still down about 3bb/100.

So to answer your question I'd say for me it took about 3 years to figure it out.

Lost a few deposit for about $100 each and cashed out over 3 thousand. In about 10 years of play on and off. Currently working on building a freeroll bankroll cant really lose there lol. Made it up to around $35 as of today. That was in 3 months which seems terrible but, I didn't play much at all for at least 2 of the months. The plan is to make this my last bankroll I ever make and If I do for reason lose it. Well i guess its back to playing freerolls :D

Never made a profit

I play the first night to win, and rest of the time trying to get my money back.

20€ (10€ twice). Started on December, been playing micros ever since, lost everything on PokerStars. Then I started taking advantage of CC freerolls (thank you for that again btw :)), a few free money offers, and some satellites, and made a total of 50€ in less than 1 month.

So, doing 50-20 = 30€ profit, already 100% withdrawn. Clearly not anything substantial but it still helps for a future project of mine

actually even I did not see gains my years of investing money , as there is always something I'm doing wrong as donating bank when the other does not have , so after I run anything I think that poker is something very personal to each and one has to learn to take care of what one effort to achieve costs .

I probably made about 5 or 6 $100 deposits at various online sites before I finally got a big score on Pokerstars (a few weeks before Black Friday). Eventually got about $3,000 off Pokerstars, then have since made probably another 5-6 online deposits of $100, first at Lock, then Bovada and then Cabron. Had a $1,500 cashout pending on Lock Poker, but of course, that cashout is never going to happen. Have had one more cashout from Bovada of $600 and right now I'm in limbo. Down to my last few bucks on Carbon and don't want to play on Bovada any more. Am trying to build up a bankroll through ACR and the CC freerolls, but it is slow going. Do not feel comfortable putting any more money into Carbon. Am starting to play more at my local pub league (usually 1-2 times a month) and that along with the CC League play is enough for me right now and various other CC tournaments, along with the occasional trip to a casino.

TRUE STORY, i played live 1/2 for the first time ever one time and i made 80 into 1050 in less than 2hours. I remember walking out with 2 racks and it was the best feeling ever. Then i had the bad experience where i walked to the ATM 3 times to take 100.00 each. it was the most shameful thing i remembered and promised myself to never do rebuys like that ever again. And I havent. However online has been a struggle, and I havent really tried to deposit anything except on bovada last year for 25.00 and that was the last deposit i ever made there. i have .03 on that account and play only on bcp & ACR now.
