well I took me about 15 months and then I did the stupid mistake to play at the Casino and won some money actually I got to 400+ dollars and then they got me. went broke pursuing a stupid "trend".
After that I redeposit and I am only playing Poker so my only advice don't fall for the Casino temptation. stay in poker and step by step we can get it done! ;)

This should be an interesting thread. :D

I fixed the thread title, and moved this to General Poker.

I'm not sure and i think its better for my sanity not to figure that out. I actually figured out that it took me 9 months to win on full tilt back when we still was able to play and i looked at my deposits vs withdrawals. So once again its better that i not recall lol for sanity reasons. Lets just say i think it was alot

I know I lost my first $100 on a 2/4 limit game at Foxwoods. I don't recall my first cash from the table or the tournament. It's been a long time since I started playing poker, about ten years. Kinda of sad my first "cash" has never stuck in my head

Interesting question. Probably a little more than a hundred before making a hundred which makes me kind of fortunate since I wasn't that good. I just played tight and almost never played my middle pair past the flop If an out of position player bet out. After some experience you realize that not everyone who bets out has top pair.

I strongly agree with you. In poker we have more control over are wins and losses. If someone is serious about having a decent shot at consistent winning they need to avoid the machines... And possibly blackjack.lol

I would say that while I won my first $100 on free rolls, I then lost it very quickly by playing tournaments that were too high of a percentage of my winnings. (So I managed my earnings rather poorly when I first started playing.)

Pretty good question. I doubt that people just entering the game keep track of that as they learn the game. I wish I knew.

The answer to this question can be found in the programs of statistics for each player. I think it is not correct to count money in someone else's pocket.

"How much did you lose before you made your first $100 in poker?"

About 35 cents, back when I was 10. The first $100 I made on the first hand I played seriously. It was a 10/20 7-Stud Hi-Lo (no qualifier, cards speak) private game and the first hand I played, I made the wheel for the scoop.

After that, there were the usual ups and downs, bigger ups than downs, though some spells of runbad lasted a helluvalot longer than I'd like to see. It doesn't last forever.

Playing 10NL, I've seen +/- $100 swings. It took 3 months to dig back out from a very bad May and June last year.

From my first deposit of $ 150, I won for 2.5 months 637 dollars. That was in 2015. Then the field of players was much better than it is now. Played MTT in small poker rooms. Before that was lost a few no deposit bankrolls, while not changed their attitude to the game.

When I was just starting their way in the game I was hoping to get lucky and had little faith in their own strength, so I made a few deposits of about $ 300 and played in tournaments spin and go. Later, when my bankroll from almost nothing left, I began to more deeply study the basics of the game, not only studied the theory and practice. Now I realized that the best thing I get to play in the MTT tournaments. And here I began to make (a little), but the first hundred dollars. As for the time, but now I spend on the game and training more than ever before, so I hope for good results in the future!

So far, I haven't lost a single dollar of my money. This is thanks to my bank that does not allow gambling sites, however, I want to make a deposits in some poker rooms and currently looking for the right solution for deposit / withdrawal. :)
