How much money should you bring to a casino, or equivalently, how much should you bet per coup, given such and such a bankroll? Affordability, of course, is a major factor. Folks shouldn't gamble thinking from the outset they'll go belly-up. But there's a chance this'll happen, and risking the rent or mortgage money isn't exactly a sound fiscal or recreational policy. After affordability comes the question of gambling objectives. Some solid citizens picture this in terms of a "win goal."

Well from a pro that I heard from to be good at black jack which works for me.. bet 3X the amount per say example I know it is low $3.00 then $1.00 then back to $3.00 and so forth. Then he goes to say when you lose 3 straight hands in a row. To quit and go to another table or take a break for a little while.

I never bring more than I can afford. Always think of it as my entertainment fund and never dig into the bill money! lol

Well I know for limit Hold'em Poker, the recommended starting bankroll size is 300x the BB for the limit you plan to play at.

So, for example, if you wanted to play the $2/$4 limit games, you should start with a bankroll of $1200.

Also, for sit-n-gos, the recommended starting bankroll is 30-50 buy-ins,

Sp if you were playing the $5+$.50 sit-n-gos, you would want to start with a bankroll of around $165-$275.

one key tip dont bring $300 and then say im only gonna use to use $100 of it cause you will end up blowing it all, bring the minimum amount you wanna spend and that is it, so if you lose you arent tempted to burn through more money

At this point in my "career" I won't set down with more than 100 bucks and I never play with anything but "fun money". No money that's obligated for other things. Goes without saying right? I guess a lot of people do it (watch Rounders.. lol). I only play with extra dough.

i usually start with 500$ at a $10 no-limit table, with another 500 in reserve if i go all-in and bust after building on my original 500.if i lose the original 500 to what i consider a bad run of cards(usually any situation that tilts me or puts me in a catching up kind of mood)i never reload with my other 500.:bandit:

it depends so much on how often you go to a casino/play online. I live 20 min from AC so I go there at least once a week, usually 2. I like to go with about 120, and then If i lose it i just come home and go to work the next day. this systems been workin for me, so i guess ive got the right amount.

I agree with pkrDoll and do the same. I set out in my personal budget room for entertainment activities i.e. cards. So, if I do happen to have a bad night, I can justify it through entertainment with no risk involved in regards to more important financial concerns.
