I am asking cause I currently have 2 sites downloaded. I have Absolute Poker and Titan on my pc. I would love to download more but my boyfriend seems to think that it slows down the computer. Could you guys and gals please let me know how many sited you have downloaded on your pc and if you have more than 2 if it slows your pc down.

Thanks

Any program can slow down a computer but not as serious as he makes it out to seem. Also your history files and internet cookie files also slow down your PC. If he is so worried about the PC slowing down, then I suggest a good cleaning every week .

You also don't need an extremly fast PC to play poker online.

I've got 27 sites on mine. Like Twizzy said Compressing old files and defragmenting your PC more often will keep you swimming.

I just counted mine and I have 27. Same number as you brianna! My experience is that these do nothing much to slow the computer down just to have them downloaded. I have had some problems with speed though when I am playing on more than 2 sites at a time. I do not do this often, but when I am multitabling I see a lag of the game speed.

OK let me ask you this question, my computer has small brain(like mine) but on it have only 6 poker sites down loaded, but have registered at 24 other sites. I ended up and deleted them due to my brain, but when I want to go back and play them,I just re-down load them and I'm ready to play because I'm already registered,so far this has worked out fine and computer runs fine. Run disk cleaner every day with defrag once a week. Being pretty new to computer is this a good or bad thing I do. Suggestions please for an "old woman".

This is an excellent idea. I have 27 on my puter, but am registered at 50. You have got the perfect idea.;) Keep up your maintenance it will save you lots of trouble. Try creating a restore point here and there. In case of crashing. These poker sites can be brutal.
P.S. Your only as old as you feel.:) ;)

Not to mention.. also do a virus scan every now and then. I'd say about once every two weeks to a month just to make sure. Go up into your tools .... top left middle of an open explorer windows. Left click and then click internet options, click on delete cookies and then if you want click on clear history files. It will ask are you sure.. I do it cause it cleans up the computer as well. However if you do clean up history files along with cookies. That wonderful little arrow that shows where you previously been on the internet.. the http one.. it no longer will have those sites on it where you've previously been.

Oh by the way.. sometimes you don't have to re download those programs. Yes it may be deleted.. however there is a file folder(s) left behind in your program file with the names or names of the program you've downloaded. Sometimes the install program is still in those files.
