"it depends"

sometimes 2 or 3, other times it's 10 or more.

When I first started out it was always only one table & I couldn't imagine how you could play more than one.

My maximum comfort level on 6 person ring game is 5 tables at once. Any more than that and I find myself forgetting where I am, and tend to make mistakes. My usual level is 4 though. This seems to be the optimum amount to keep me focused. For tournaments, I will usually limit myself to 2 max.

I mostly play tournaments and SNGs now, but years ago when I was playing mostly cash games, I would usually play 6 tables at the same time.

more then enough

Just one table is more then enough. If I do more then that I end up winning on one and losing on the other. Ofcourse with out some 'sweet' profit.:D

I usually have 1 or 2 MTTs, a sit and go and a freeroll going at all times. My wife says my poker playing is an addiction but I have never had withdrawals when I don't play for a week or so lol. Once in a while all the tables are acting at the same time and that gets interesting but overall I handle it ok.:D:D

It depends on what games I am playing.

For Hold'em Tournaments and Sit&Go 4 is comfortable. Although, like lots of others only 1 when I started.

For Hold'em Cash 6 is OK although I don't play cash very often.

If I am playing Omaha or mixed games I can only play 1 table properly because I am not really used to them.

Tonight I was playing 3 Hold'em Tourneys and 1 mixed game and it was a disaster. Very hard to switch my mind between the different games when needed.

6 is the most confortable number for me, where I can still take optimal decisions without losing concentration.

but, usually when playing sngs I open around 10-14 at the same time, when i hit final tables/bubbles there are rarely more than 6 tables open

Number of Tables

Looking at the number of tables some players play, (one said 16) is it any wonder that the speed of many tables is being slowed down. It is impossible to keep track of who has called or raised in such a short time. Reduce your number of tables played, please.

I feel comfortable playing at 8 tables, but if you have good bank and grinder you can play at the tables that you want as long as you have at least 3 monitors jajajajajaja

I am comfortable with 4 tables. If I am playing tournaments with 9 or 10 players per table, I can handle 5 or 6 tables.

If I'm playing heads up online 2max, if I'm in a MTT, I can run four games in sit n gos, but it more tables is less information on your opponents.

I play mostly at B&M venues, so just one at a time. I usually stick with one on-line as well. Better to concentrate on one set of villains, really key in on their leaks, and attack.

Works for me. The more tables they play, the less attention they're paying, and they tend to play very nitty, so easy to rob.
