I'm interested in this question as well, on a lap top runing a hud, how much room would be left.i suppose it is screen size dependent...?

I've been able to play 8 tables on PS using my macbook and touchpad (play money at the moment due to US issues). At bovada can only do 3 due to the interface.

EDIT: I don't use one (yet), but I think adding a HUD can significantly affect the amount of tables played due to screen size.

If you're going to multi-table on a single screen (laptop or not), then you're going to have to stack after about 4-6 tables, which is about the most you can tile and still be readable. Maybe less on cheaper, low-resolution laptops. When you stack, it doesn't matter how small your screen is or whether it's a laptop or not, because the tables are on top of each other and you're only ever seeing one whole table at a time.

Whether you have a mouse or not is also up to you and not really relevant to how many tables can be played. There's nothing about online poker that requires an external mouse. Some people prefer the mouse, others the trackpad. If you already have a preference for non-poker work, use that.

My 13inch laptop will tile 4 maximum with no overlap, but I normally play 6 in two columns of 3 slightly overlapping tables.

Try 1 more and 1 more until your comfortable, you will know when you take on too much. If using hud, 4 is what I use on my laptop with no mouse, but its all about you and what you like/can handle

You could play plenty of tables if you stacked instead of tiled as you wouldn't need to move around the screen.

When you stack several tables do you have a problem missclicking ? say if action is on you on two tables at the same time.

I have a 22" monitor and I find even 3 tiled tables to be very uncomfortably tiny so I only play 2 max for now. Will get something like a 32" 1080p TV in the future then I could play 4 tables at a time which is my target as I dont even want to play more than that.

I only do freerolls multitabeling or just two tournements at the same time. Because i want to know how my opponent is playing. Im a looser who gos in freerolls all in with a good card, thats why im playing mostly more than one.

That would be none for me. I use a mouse with my lap top. The touch pad I will not use.

I agree with the touchpad; when you use it all the time forever, it becomes second nature and the mouse is not easier for me either.

You would be amazed how easy you find it to use the touchpad after years of practice
Well I do use touchpad on a daily basis, but not for poker and it can never replace a mouse in my opinion. It just can't. When you play like 12-14 tables at a time, you need more control over your tables, and I dont even consider myself a super mass-multitabler (over 20 tables). Using a mouse makes it much more easier and controlable.
Do you stack or tile? I use a combination of stacking and tiling and play up to 14 tables on my laptop. I'm also a former gamer, so playing without a mouse is just not an option. :)

Don't know how anyone would multitable without a mouse, unless maybe you're playing on Macbook. They have the only usable (and actually enjoyable to use) touchpad IMO, although I'm still not sure I'd want to multitable with it. All of my Windows laptops for sure have external mice.

When playing on my macbook I stack about 6 tables. I use hotkeys mostly for betting - only really use trackpad when doing unusual/big bet sizes. I think hotkeys are great for stacking - really quick to make action and next table pops up for more action.

Thats been my thoughts As using a laptop recently Ive not had the mouse facility 'hopefully come febuary will have an office room good to go'

But yea I dont really think anymore than 4 tables for me personally is advisable. given your forum input, and readin in other posts how many tables you can play at one time. you pretty much must know what your talking about so I'll take that on board for sure.
lol
