I read books that deal more with theory and less with strategy...I like to develop my own strats based a bit on "correct" play and opinions of others. Books like The Theory of Poker, Poker Mindset, etc.

I didn't read any of them.Im not a pro player but i think you dont need them, you have to play in your own way!You must have your personal style,of course as long as you don't get greedy and respect a decent bankroll strategy.

None, I can't seem to retain what I read. Maybe that's the reason I quit school and joined the Navy the day I turned seventeen. Got GED and made Third Class Petty Officer on taking the test the second time. Not bad for a drop out. lol

I read many books about poker and in my opinion the most interesting books for me were books of Collin Moshman.

and who is the best?
I hate to read because of bad eyes so I have never read a single poker book. I have been a natural at math and I feel that helps my game a lot. So if the poker books are not helping your game try a little math study such as statistics, or any math science to do with odds.:D:D

I have never read a poker book but i have read a ton of websites and watched a lot of videos as well as live twitch play. I figure it would be beneficial to my game but I also practice a low cost strategy so I dont any money on training. If there is something free though I will use it. Ive watched a ton of replay videos as well as training videos and some in depth strategy videos as well but never read a book.

I've read many poker books and I'm using CardsChat forum to improve my game. That's the best combination.

To be honest , I do not like reading poker books , I think it is an obsolete method ... With the exception of those who tell stories of poker, these I find interesting :)

I haven't read any yet, but intend to read lots!

I'm at the stage where I need that input because I've learnt pretty much all I can just by playing by myself..

Quite possibly starting with 'Strategies for Beating Small Stakes Poker Tournaments' by Jonathan Little.

After that I'll be reading strategy books and ones by my favourite pros...

I read parts of Harrington on Hold 'em, and read through few other books that are often recommended. But I never read any poker book from cover to cover.

There are lots of free poker resources out there that are more engaging, but reading good poker books is on my list of things to do when I have less school work to do.

Obselete or not, it's still information to take in. Whether or not you agree with the info, to me, it's better to know as much as you can about the game rather than close your mind off to it.

Wow, I don't even know how many poker books I've read. 30ish, probably. Anything by David Sklansky is a must read. I also really liked Phil Gordon's Little Green Book and Little Blue Book. At the time when I first read those books(2005), they helped improve my game so much, it was ridiculous.

As far as I can remember, I have never read a book on poker. I started my poker schooling right here. But I was so mad so much of the time that I didn't learn a damn thing for the first 3 months. Like I always say, these CC members put me on a NO TILT diet and that's what I worked on for 6 months and nothing else. Today you can beat the crap out of me 3 times in a row on the river and I won't think twice about it, because I have to think about the hand coming. The past ones will just drag you down. Anyway, these days I'm working on some position, range, and bet sizing in those situations. It's not easy so I guess no one will mind if I just take my time. When I have a question I need advice on, I do like everyone else, I post it. And I don't remember a time when I got no feedback. About my tilt problem, one man with a very few words was the one who really got me looking at myself as my own biggest problem. He called them my enter demons. I took that so serious that I kept trying to get him to say a little more, and give me a hint of what I was missing. I thought he knew a secert about the game and one day he was going to tell me. That's so crazy, But this man never said anything else to add to those few words, but he did quite a bit remind me of those demons. Those turned out to be anger, hate, fear, low self-esteme, and a truck load of more of the same. IT WAS ME ALL ALONG. It still is me and I have a long way to go. Just waiting for my go ahead to move up to 25nl sometime today, or in the morning. I got the money and need to take a shot at it. Sorry you guys, I just got carried away with this.
