I could listen to this guy for hours.By far he is my favorite poker commentator. He's funny, smart, can read the players most of the times, entertaining & brings more excitement to ESPN's wsop coverage. It would be awesome to have him commentate a private home game. Then have it YOUTUBED.LOL

He is hilarious. I love how he compares his game to the pro's. He definitely knows his poker better than he leads on though, especially when it comes to the jack links hand. Lon McHaron (might have spelled that wrong) is just background noise during the show, Norm is the real star commentator.

HAHAHAHAH had to re-read your post to see that last part. I would definitely take a house rake to come up with a paycheck for him to do commentary for one of my home games. We have a lot of fun regardless, but I think having him read people and crack jokes in the background would put it over the top.

I love him tbh, always entertaining and enthusiastic. As someone said before he knows the game a lot better than he makes out. Im tempted to watch the ME 2011 now actually, love watching Benba rip it up.

He's decently funny and he's got the same name as I, except I spell mine Normand. I think he is hilarious but I dont think that would be agreed upon by many.

Best part of the telecast in my opinion. Prefer it over wpt or after dark because of him.

You gotta love him. I'd be surprised if anyone said they didn't love Norman's self deprecating style of humor. It really does keep keep things entertaining when the action slows down. I'm watching Poker After Dark right now and I don't understand how they can have one guy in the booth by himself. With nobody to play off of, the commentary is awfully dry. Right now he's lucky to have Jean Robert Bellande and Mike Matusow sitting side by side at the table.

I like Norman also.He is a Costello(comedic relief) to Lon's Abbott. They make a great pairing and would like to see them do other games besides the WSOP.I also think Gabe Kaplan is awesome behind the mic. He brings a different perspective when he announces. He will start to pick up on a guy's demeanor and put it out there for all to see.Other times I'm sure he just marks a couple of tells in his book for himself.I think Sexton and VanPatten were real reason i stayed up to watch the @ hour WPT.It's really not the same when they went to the 1 hour format but still entertaining.

The format and idea of that show is to have the players at the table carry the entertainment value. They are all mic'ed up which is not the case in a lot of other shows. That game is there because of and for the cameras - not an event being covered by cameras.
Sometimes it doesn't work - but explains why some players are on so often.

Yeah Norman Chad is cool. I like the commentary.

He has some sort of man crush on Patrick Antonious.... LOL.

I think he is very modest about his poker intellect. He is probably a very good player.

I like Norman Chad like I like Srichacha....

A little is almost always going to enhance,

Just right is wonderful,

but too much is absolutely horrendous.

I think it should be 3 guys calling the action with Chad at color, Busquet(sp?) at analysis and Lon at play by play.

I also appreciate that Chad is going to be the fav. of the fish/new players which is great for the game.

He's ok but I'd really like him to be a bit more serious when it comes time for the final table in the WSOP events.

A joke here & there is ok no doubt. Joking around when the field is still very large isn't bad one bit but when the final table comes about, I think he should get down to business & focus just like the players are.

My favorite Chadism - always preceded by someone else burning him - "Good for you". A perfect blend of sincerity and sarcasm.

Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten are the best.
I was watching them today and Vince made a pretty funny comment "his stack has been chipped away more then Michael Jackson's noise"

Believe it or not Hellmuth isn't bad
