I play right now alot of poker im saying at least 16hrs a day and have been for past 2 months since Ive Been waiting on this Job..
But It Seems to me I play really good poker in the morning and the best right after i work out after i work out for a half hr i play a tourney and win idk why maybe im just focused but then later on in mid day idk if i get burnt out on poker but it seems im focused at first then maybe one min Im not focused and Im trying to be too agro or something and i lose tourneys in a split min of not being focused... Anyone Else understand that problem it only takes a few mins of lack of concentration and your like where did my chips go.. and sometimes its like you go on auto pilot of agressive ness

Well I am out of the house for work 14-16 hours a day so most days 0 lol on my days off I'd say anywhere between 4-6 hours depending on the day and what I have to catch up on before going back to work.

do you feel like when you do get a chance to play poker you are more focused than if you did have time to play all day?

I knew to play 10-12 hours when I was in a full-grind mode... man that was tough :)
Now, a couple hours a day maybe 2-3 hours, not more

I played like that 13 years ago and it lasted a long time. But I have learned a lot since then. In the past 2 months I'm putting in more hours at the tables than I have been in awhile and that's only 4-6. When you get tired, you are not going to pay attention like your earlier play. so if you are going to play longer hours, stop at mid day and do something else for 2 hours. Then try it again. I've found that even taking a shower, fixing something to eat, reading, and even some cleaning some in my apt helps me to focus better when I start playing again. So 2 hrs morning, 2 hours after lunch, and 2 hours later in the evening. Now that's if I'm playing cash. If I'm going to play long MTTs, then I play 3 that starts about the same time on BCP,Full Flush, and Carbon. And anything I play, I set a limit on how much I can lose in one day. So if I lose on all three sites, there is no more play that day, and that gives me a rest. This is my opinion. If you want to be a winning player, by what you have said, you will need to cut down your hours. Ask around about some other things that maybe going on with you playing that many hours and get some feedback there too. GL to you.

I have work from seven in the morning to five in the evening which only gives me the rest of the night to play. The problem with this is that I can't play long tournaments that run through to the early hours of the morning. However, during the weekends, I don't have work which means that I can play all day. I suppose the advantage of only playing a few hours a day is that you put all your focus and concentration into that one session. However, when you're playing all day, there may be some moments where you're not playing your best and not making the right decisions. All in all, there are positives and negatives to playing only a few hours a day, compared to a whole day.

Depends on the day for me..

Some days it's 0-3 hours, and others it is 7-10. Work is a big factor there, haha.

I play mainly freeroll tournaments so I would say in between 2-4 hours a day. I play better when I am in a good mood, not distracted and more focused... I definitely understand what you mean when you say it only take a few minutes of lack of concentration and then all your chips start disappearing. I experience it the most coming off a bad beat. Thats when I become extra aggressive and then start to lose most of my chips if not all of them. I have to train myself and get better at that.

I work during the day and play for 4-6 hours in the evening. On weekends I can play anymore. Sometimes there is no time to poker because of employment.

I will only play for more than 8 hours in a day if someone was there to massage my butt every hour and prepare my meals until then I can only do about 3-4 hours of poker every other day because I chose to do poker playing time killers like have kids and get married.

I am not starting a new job till Monday so right now I'm doing about 6 - 7 hours a day, after the kids are in bed I'm online, cheers the Mrs right up :). I'm trying to take my poker more seriously and get better, so I'm also trying to read books at least an hour everyday.

It depends how many tables you play in the same time and what is the goal you are trying to reach. Bigger appetites means more playing hours per day and more tables in the same time reduce the playing hours. The golden middle is the key of your answer.

I play during the week after work usually about 4 to 5 hours. That's my therapy. On weekends its probably more like 12 hours, I find however, I am more focus if I have done what I deem are my chores.

I find that if I haven't done my chores then my focus is impaired maybe because it is out of self imposed guilt.

Your mind wonders whether it be consciously or subconsciously.
