Say to become good at something, you need 10,000 hours of practice. Is this true? If you spend eight hours a day without a weekend, it does 2000 hours a year, or it takes 5 years to become good. Let the experienced players tell how long they have become so good to earn from poker.

If you're willing to learn and don't have a big ego then it won't take very long. If you're bad at poker you might not have a big enough bankroll to play 10,000 hours.

I think that it's good to play poker, you need everything, and training, working on the game, studying the literature on poker, constantly improving your game and of course more luck!
And how much time is needed depends on you !!!

If you go your own way, then 10000 hours is just an optimization of the game and skills, and the skill will come to you along with the coach. I advise you to move in this direction

This will depend a lot on your studies and learnings in poker. If you learn the basics of poker and pay a coach with a professional who offers this service, you may be good and profitable very fast. But if you do not have so much money to pay coach and study only with free materials found on the internet, it will take a little longer, but depending on your dedication can also start to be lucrative.

The chess players have training programs or robots that play against them. Are there any programs in poker as well? I do not want to make analyzes, but to play as a real opponent. Can you recommend me such a program instead of a coach?

Thanks for the advices, dudes!

I've heard that many professionals have played for several years before they began to earn well and it's more and more like the truth (in my experience). I think everything here is individual, it all depends on your mental abilities, patience and zeal))

The time changes according to your bankroll ability and ability. If you play well higher limits, it will be faster. But I have never met anyone who has been very successful in less than a year, except for those famous people who started from scratch many years ago;

I don't think it takes 10 000 hours but you do need the experience. Learn and play, learn and play. I'm currently doing that and my game has improved. Play as much as you can, practise on freerolls so you don't lose your bankroll.

Does anyone have a link to a good poker strategy guide on youtube? I've been reading on thepokerbank.com for tips, but I'd like to see videos as well as I enjoy those.

Generally real Poker players don't play like computers.
But if you want to learn the rules and probabilities, you can try some funny game like Governor o Poker, is a good way to learn the basic, but just the basic.

Depends on lots of things. If you want to be good at poker and win money, you need to practice a lot. Read books, try to watch different poker videos. This can really help you to improve your level of the game. Also you need to have patience. In poker patience is everything. I know some people can play really good , but without patience they can loose everything in a few hands.
So if you will try hard, i,m sure it is possible to make money on poker tables. I wish you best of luck in your poker career.

Understanding the game, understanding the math behind the game and understanding the psychology of the game could take a few months or a few years depending on how quickly you pick it up.

But...

You can be the best trained player in the world and still lose money. The one thing you need more than anything else in poker is a good run. You need a lot of days where the cards fall right, the fish bite well and the river treats you kindly. When you have these days having good skill makes them a lot more profitable.

If you're having bad days, bad week or bad even months then all the skill in the world won't make it better. These are the days you rather go fishing, read a book or watch some movies. If you must play then play at very low stakes to minimize losses.
