Learned to play poker when I was young. My siblings were significantly older and my parents would yell at them (lol) to let me play when they had their friends over for a Friday night friendly poker game. At first they would all go very easy if I went in with them on a pot, it wasn't long though until I really took to it and it was an all out poker war (hehehe) Not always but often an 8 year old (me) would take their money (an excellent supplement to my allowance) I've been hooked ever since=-)
I have played online for about a year and half. I been playing home games for a long time just messing around with the family. But I didn't get into NLTH until I seen the wsop a few years ago on TV.
I've been playing for around 1.5 years. I learned from watching the WSOP on ESPN. I've only started to play online recently for money and I've done quite well!
I have played on and off for about 20 yrs. I am from Texas and we had some really good weekly games. I moved out to Oregon and got away from it. When i got married about four years ago m wife told me that she would never gamble because she was afraid that she would get carried away. Well I did she did we did ....lol now we have a game atleast once a month in our house and i play twice a month with another group of guys and we both play on line just about every day now. We had to buy two computers.....lol thank god we win once in awhile....
I am from Australia so I am familliar with Manilla (must use 2 hole cards & has 32 card deck - 7s up- also has beeting on every community card which are turned over one at a time) I used to play about 10 years ago.
So I am on vacation in Vegas one year ago and come accross the card room in the Sands.
Funny thing is, it takes me 2 hours to work out that I am not playin Manilla.
It takes me another 6 hours to lose the $100 I started with and the same amount of time to polish off 8 Miller Originals.
I understand the game a bit better now and no longer don't drink and play anymore.
Though maybe I should - it would hel me with all of the bad beats!
