Hello I was wondering if bringing a small note pad or typeing in my phone when to take notes is a good idea. My memory is ok but I get over loaded trying to remember alot of the thing I have read on or learned from playing poker. Yes I know people may wonder or even know what Im doing by writeing or typing. I don't really care I just want to learn from my mistakes and others to better my play. And yes I should care a little because players may change there play or be more prone to fold or make sure to not allow a show down. I'm just looking for ideals. I like playing cash games. And I want to learn the people I play regularly. And yes a good player will change there style of play but many don't from what I see everyday.

Any suggestions my memory isn't great.

If you're playing online, forget about trying to keep notes on paper or on your phone. Just get Poker Tracker or HEM. The quantitative statistics it'll collect "automatically" will be way more helpful than writing subjective notes down.

It makes no sense to take notes on paper or elsewhere. To do this, there are special programs for the collection of statistics: Holdem Meneger, Poker Tracker, etc. So, almost all poker rooms allow and provide a tool commonly in the chat window, enabling a player to take notes.

Okay if you are talking about studying poker (either from books, articles, clips, or experience), I would recommend you use a notepad. For example, I have read "The Theory of Poker" and several strategy articles online. What I do is start a sheet of paper by saying where that is from (ex. "Theory of Poker, Chapter I: The Fundamental Question"). Below I'll start making bullet points with the main things from that chapter.
After reading the whole book/article, I go back, and summarize that summary into another sheet of paper, where I will only write things that I can use when playing (for example, I'll write "Raise" and below I'll write only when I should and should not raise, since I don't need the entire theory in order to apply that to my game).

If you are talking about players, then I agree you should buy a Tracker like PlayedYou73 and others said above.

I usually write down all in ranges preflop, as well as summaries of important hands. Rarely, I write down plans for future bets on what might work against the villain. I stop using poker software, it takes the fun out.

at pokerstars you can see a record of all hands and all cards of the final table of the Sunday Storm MTT. This is one of the best options to learn the game.

To online poker you don't need it, you could but it would be a waste of time.
You can use holdem manager or track them if it's easier for you.
