Allright, i know this question must be asked ALOT... and prob. to many people are dreaming of it. But still..... dreaming is a good thing right? :p

So i am currently playing $7,00 sit and go's and playing 12 tables at the time.. Looking to increase it but for now. Just 12. And i have currently a ridiculous ROI of 26,5% (BUT that's only i a sample of 2,7K of tournaments.)

But still how high do you think you need to play to make a living..

$7,00
$15,00
$30,00
$60,00

What do you guys think? On what level would you be comfortable?

It's obviously one of those 'it depends' questions - it depends what your expenses are, how gambling earnings are taxed in your country, how your local currency fares against the currency you're playing in, how many hours you have to play in, how many tables you can play, do you have rakeback...

I will say this for SnGs though - you have to take into account that the players get a lot better and the ROIs of even the best players drop sharply the higher up in stakes you go. Being able to consistently beat $20+ SnGs is no small thing.

yes comfterable to me is 50k+ but i honestly believe to live off of poker is much more easy playing live at a casino or home games ,online to me is much harder might be because im not familiar with 1000's of players compared to only a couple dozen that i play with often and have a fairly good pickins of donks and fish

Live is easier, as one stated before. However, you simply must account for variance. I am talking confidende robbing, 2 outing, soul crushing variance.

I am mentioning this because ATM I am in yet another wave of cold cards. It is as if someone cast a spell on me. Make sure you are rolled peoperly to survive the downswings.

That being said, go after your dreams. I wish you well.

Wow, thats an awesome ROI.....where do you play at?

Personally I dont see why IF THERE IS LIQUIDITY, you cannot make a living playing the 7.50s or whatever...IF they are on P* or somehow you can get 50% RB which isnt as hard to get as one might believe at many sites.

It depends on a combination of factors. One is how much you consider "making a living". Others include how many tables you average at one time, how many hours you're willing to put in, and your win rate.

The math is pretty straightforward. Having good numbers and/or estimates to plug in may or may not be.

we have to be getting like a 5 of these types of thread per day.

If you're playing $7.00 sng's at 25% ROI, that means you're making 1.75 per game. Assuming you can get 1k games in per month you'll be making $1750 per month.

$15.00 sngs at the same ROI = $3750

$30.00 sngs at the same ROI = $7500

For me personally playing your games at your ROI would be give me way more than enough money; at the $15.00 sngs I'd be very rich comparatively.

Yea, but a 25% ROI at 15s and 30s is unheard of. Maybe 7-13% is pushing it and considered an elite player imo.

I am not sure about SNG play, but in cash games you can make a modest living, somewhere around $50-$100nl if you are winning at a solid rate and playing a lot of hands.

Well thanks for the response :). I dont think ill ever play for a living.. but at least i have fun for the game.

I do think you can have a higher ROI then 15% on the $15,00 level.. Since is only play 12 tables. So far if done it at least.. but like i said on a still very small sample.

Is there any one of you guys playing for a living? And so what are you playing..

@ pokerstars, $7,00 dollar turbo's mainly 18 man/ 45 man later prob adding 180. When i go to 14 tables.
