So some friends and I used to get a nice little home game going about a year ago. We would play about once or twice a week and would normally have at least five players but had a quite a few games where there would be nine of us. We used to play for $5 with both blinds being 5c.

One night I think there were about six of us playing. Now the hand is very blurry to me but i do remember there were only two people in the hand. One of my buddies can be quite aggressive and im sure he was betting quite a bit, and it turns out that he had a flush. I do not recall if there were three spades on the board or four. I think there were four because that is the only way the events that were about to occur would make sense...

So the board is something along the lines of As Ah Xs Xs Xs. Four spades and two aces.

My buddy I told you had the flush and puts my other friend all in. He then proceeds to think for a minute before folding and saying.. "I have to fold, I only have two pair." and flips over pocket aces! Thus folding quad aces. He thought his quads were two pair. Two pairs of aces!! lol!!

Me and my buddies were stunned at first... then im sure we all started laughing at him. We gave him the card that comes in the deck that tells you the hand ranks and told him to study it lol.

Just a funny little story i thought id share with you. Enjoy lol!

Lol that reminds me of an episode of only fools and horses, where Del boy is holding 4 aces in his 5 card and Boycie was cheating and changed his 5 card hand and was holding 4 kings. Boycie went all in and Del boy called worrying everyone around him that he was going to lose all their money. The showdown came and Boycie showed his kings and said 4 kings, Del boy said damn I have only got two pairs and they were all cursing him. Just before Boycie collected his winnings, Del boy shown him what the two pair was, it was hilarious :D

If you're playing with two friends like that. You should make sure they all know how to play the game. If their your friends. Actually take the deck of cards and show them what beats what. If there's any question at all. It's the only right thing to do.

I think i know what your talking about, and i think it was in the wsop main event. There were 4 cards to a flush on the board and a guy showed a two pair or something and Phil mucked a hand completing the flush. I was like huh??

Edit: Heres the link and actually it was just one pair

Well obviously, and we had played with him many times we thought he did know what hands were what.. but obviously he was confused lol. In the end we made it right..
