How do you know when you are playing the right stakes for you ability?

For me it's when my heart still pumps when I make a move, but you I am not playing scared money. This is how I know I am playing at the level I should. Right now I am playing $5 three table Sit n Go games.

What is your level of comfort and how do know when you are playing at the level you should be playing at?

At the beginning of my poker career, I was frightened even in freeroll tournaments. My heart was beating like I was playing for a lot of money. Then I realized that I need to go through a number of freerolls to cope with this. In the end, with time the excitement passed, and I realized that I overcame the level of ordinary freerolls. Now I can play microlights like a cold-blooded frozen deer on the shores of Alaska, if there is such an expression.

My own indicator is whether the money is coming in or out :D I am pretty disciplined when it comes to bankroll management so I favor slow climbing and play according to that. If I start to lose when I take a shot at higher stakes, I know that I'm not ready for it yet. As long as I am crushing the stakes in the long run, I know I'm at the right place.

I also need to feel comfortable to lose the money I invest in every game so that's another indicator. I don't want to be scared to lose it. That reminds me of a time when I played live cash and ended up in table wayyyy beyond my league. I have probably never been that scared in my life but I accidentally crushed people's souls in there and left with 7x winnings. That became my biggest poker victory of all time but I still feel like I just got lucky that day. I really don't want to feel that horror again until I am truly ready :D

My heart doesn't really be racing until I'm all in with a small stack or I'm at a final table or close to one. :)

I think you know you're at the right level when you have the right amount of confidence in your game.

Variance and BRM are key points in this as well.

Look, bankroll management is not so hard as it can seems. This is not difficult at all. When you play any game, you need to understand, that this is not your last money, and if anything goes wrong you will have enough money to play again.

Your personal poker experience and finances should be your only judge on this.

Why ask strangers to evaluate what you should do when they have no knowledge of how good of a player you are, or what your personal finances are.
