It is necessary to distract from the thought that you lost. If you have a hobby then take care of it. Listen to relaxing music. Each relaxes in its own way.

I endure the loss calmly. I'm looking at this from the point of view of probability theory. Whenever you should still be lucky. Once I was already very fortunate and I took 1st place with a good prize. In probability theory, the next time will not be soon.

Good music man, that's the main reason I can keep my calm.
Light up a cigarette( if you don't smoke then don't do it 😂)
Make a coffee.
And if this three things don't calm me up then I just stop playing.

When things start going wrong I would suggest focusing on making correct decisions based on all available info.

I like to remind myself that I am not in control of my results -since you can do everything right and still lose... But I control my decisions and good decisions in the long run will win money.

Good luck to you! :D

I used to get really worried and tilted when I lost in cash games now I just accept it as being part of the game. Good music and hot chocolate do the trick.

Few days ago I ate a lot of normal chocolate and chocolate sweets before a cash game session, and I swear I never saw that much premium starting hands. So, I can say that chocolate prevents stress. I should try to do it more often :D

In that case, I went to buy the chocolate. Just took 10th place of 3500 people from KQ against 6 3. Why so tough?

After having had a long day playing poker and not having won anything ... on the contrary having lost .... I try to reflect on some very realistic phrases that apply to poker ... as for example .... " there are good days and also bad days "... then I rest a little ... I see some television program that I like ... The next day I review the reasons why I lost and if they were my mistakes I will try to correct them to improve my game ...!

I cope with stress when I lose to poker, than I distract myself from thinking that I lost and did not get into the prize money, I quickly find more tournaments and I play or I just watch interesting funny videos so as not to think about losing, find yourself something interesting so after the game of poker you are well distracted - and did not think about losing in the game!

Personally, I take a break in the game. I make myself tea or coffee, I can eat something tasty. Communicate with your loved ones. If this does not help, then I just quit the game.

Music...It is so important to remain calm. As soon as you stress out, the grind is over and you become defensive which leads to some bad bets/calls.

I just stop playing poker. Sometimes I do long breakes - 1-2 weeks without poker. I check I can't play poker more days without pauses.

I totally get what you mean. Sometimes it's really frustrating and you want to waste chips, but don't do that. Instead, take a deep breath and focus:

If you're just playing at the tables:

- what have I lost so far today?
- how long have I been playing today?

If you feel too frustrated and can't calm down, take a break or stop for the day. Take your mind off the poker.

If you're playing in (a) tournament(s):

- at what position am I currently? Am I close to the money?
- how high are the blinds?
- how many chips do I have left?
Don't forget! It's not because you're low stack after you just lost a big pot, that it's all over. Don't stop believing. Don't immediately go all-in, wait for the right moment to call, bet, raise, check, go all-in, etc. As a player with a low stack, you're limited, but it has its advantages when you have the winning hand. Players will often call you because they think you're desperate or you're trying to steal the blinds.

Music is also a great way to calm yourself down. Energetic music might not be ideal, unless that calms you.

In order not to get stressed from the game or after the game - do not put any short-term goals before it. The distance Your faithful friend, or girlfriend))) Bitterness from loss of a possible win, much less than from unrealized plans and dreams.

If I find myself getting overly stressed, tired or even bored sometimes, i will get up from the table. if playing online i will get away from the computer for 10 mins, make a coffee and drink it outside in the garden. if playing in bricks and mortar club i will go out side and talk with the smokers for 10 mins. I don't return to the table untill i feel refreshed and unstressed.

Excellent question. You have to be motivated to want to play going in. You have to be willing to forgo your entry fee, time if you don't cash / lose. You have to be available in mind and body to FOCUS. Then and only then can you focus on prize money.

You have to appreciate the times you do cash, much less win. Winning a tournament, 1st place wow, every chip in the tournament is in your stack, largest prize money too. Say a thousand entrants and it's all your that is 1000/1 odds of winning with all things being equal in that scenario and if you can't handle the swings take your frustrations out on free rolls and low level tournaments. Think of that proportion and know that if your cashing at a high rate 1 out of 5 even, you're special. :icon_boun Simple formula, total the amount of tournaments you played x the amount of players divide it by the average of players that cash, then figure out using that same model where you're at above that number or below, if you're above you're good, if below your game needs work. Do the math, then see how you feel before you punch a wall.
