Lately I have been playing well enough or running good enough (which ever way you take it) to make an extra £100 per week while im in a 9-5 job. I have managed to do this by playing $5 SNG's and some tourneys, As you can imagine an extra 100 quid a week really helps out. However enough of me rambling on my question was to you guys in the same situation as me with a 9-5, how much are you winning per week through poker? and what games are you managing to make money through??

Used to be mainly an MTT player so rarely earn a decent amount per week, just hit that big score once in a while. Last week I gave 2NL a go and made around $70 and then hit a $430 win in an MTT so it's been an awesome week for me, $500 profit!

I play when I get the chance....work shced not 9-5....so if I find an hour or two...I like jumping into a ring game...on the weekends I might try a long tournament...$3-$5 buy-in!

Not as much as £100 a week (I wish). However I don't / can't put in the same volume as you Tom - I noticed that your goal for the month was 800 SNG's whilst I'm lucky to get 50-60 and at my current bankroll I want to keep at the $2 level (although thinking of moving up to the $5's shortly).

For me personally, I work about fifty hours a week and still find time to play poker somehow. My personal favorites used to be the $5 DON SNG's at pokerstars, but since they have gotten rid of them I play $5 SNG's, which still seem to have a lot of fish. I don't get to play many hours, because I am usually exhausted after I get off of work, but at the same time I'm making a decent amount of money each week, maybe around $50. It's a tough life, but hey I love the game so it's worth it.

I usually play a few hours a day - I work weird hours at the moment so I just get them in whenever I'm free. I leave what I win in the account though so I can play more / higher in the future, don't really see the point in withdrawing just a few hundred here and there. STTs are my main game.

I work about 45-50 hours a week, and I play 3-4 hours a week (would play more if I had the chance). I'd say I make about $20-$25 a month playing $5.50 SNG's. So 100 pounds a week would be like a dream to me at this point.

I am currently making nothing, so I would say you're doing fantastic! But why not build up your bankroll and move to higher stakes? Sounds like you are ready for it.

I'm doing 3 to 4 hours an evening and making around£50 for a six-day week but I'm not going to tell you about it because I haven't hit a bad spell yet - and if I tell you, I certainly will :)

Pretty much the same for me. (except MTT-SNG, & MTT's mostly in stead of STT-SNG).
I transfer off a bit here & there to friends (instead of them depositing, although I've prob transferred ~$3k) Can't see making a withdrawl anytime soon (not until I'd have more than $10k in online accounts which is quite a ways off atm).

All I can say is well done, although I do suggest you leave your winning in your account, go up a level, build up your roll, that way you can take out a bigger slice less often.

Then....

Rinse & Repeat

I grind at the 9-5 M-F job and then grind and the tables a couple of nights a week. Usually making enough to cover my rake...sometimes more...sometimes less!

I think if I were disciplined enough to play under ideal conditions (wife away, kid asleep, not too intoxicated, not to sleepy) I would have better results. The problem is, those times don’t ever exist & I enjoy the game as recreation.

I am working to be profitable by trying to come here and read online articles & some books, but did fall asleep deep in a MTT last week. Woke up in time to still make the FT, but was under-stacked and finished 5th or 6th when I called Mr. Aggressive’s All In with AJ. He flips A8 and hits the snowman on the flop! I still love poker and will be logging on soon!

I remember posting on this thread about a week ago, and I haven't been able to play a hand of poker since! Work has been pretty crazy right now, it's busy season for my job and it requires a lot of time. It sucks that I have no time to play poker it seems, but honestly it's all about balance. I know that when I have a lot of things to get done, poker is the first thing that gets cut, but as soon as I have some free time it is definitely one of my top priorities. Just focus on making sure that your work gets done and you will be great!

Not that I've been very successful yet, but my current strategy is to satellite into some larger buy-in tournaments. If I only have an hour or two, I'll play the sats, and save the tickets for when I have longer to spend, or for scheduled events. Got a ticket I'm gonna use for a $24+2 tonight and satty'd into MiniFTOPS #1 earlier today.

Just grown tired of the grinding; see if I can nab a bigger score... Here's hoping!!!

for me it's been THE $1.10 90 PLAYER sit n go's or the $3.30 90 player knockout.I usually split 10 tourny's between the 2 a week while working a 9-5 and profiting about 40 bucks per week on avarage

Tom, you say "lately" you've been making that much, but what about over 1,000's of sngs? I found that my "lately" means nothing at all. I can think I'm winning at a certain level because everything points to it, my apparent skill compared to the apparent skill of my opponents, apparently having average luck, etc, but then a bad run makes me realize that during the time i was winning and experiencing perceived average luck was in fact, a run of time while experiencing above average luck. My actual winnings over a very long time does not usually keep up with my expectations because bad runs wipe out a good portion of the money earned during good runs. I hope that this is not what will happen to you, but it could, unless your "lately" means thousands (not just hundreds) of sngs.

I have played well over 1000 SNG's!

I used the term "lately" because I have just started a new job a month ago so I have been making my £100 a week since then by playing a couple of hours after work and quite abit of play on the weekends, mainly sundays.
