So, here I am considering how many of the CardsChat games I will be playing this week, amongst all of the other things I have to do, let alone other poker games that I may end up,playing. So, I am wondering how you guys fit poker into your life? Especially if you work or have families. I am quite lucky really but would live to find more time to play. Your experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks

BB

The poker in my life is like a therapy. I just do not talk to anyone uring the game but open my mind pro game and talk to myself about all possible moves .

It's all a matter of priorities - let's see
1. Whatever the wife wants me to do
2. Golf 3 mornings
3. Poker at pubs 2 nights
4. Rest time (usually afternoon- at my age I need my afternoon nap)
5. Internet poker usually about 6 hours a day, firstly when I get up (wife still asleep - ah peace and quiet), then afternoon 2.00 p.m. plus when I am not tired.

oh and sometimes I take time off for food (an afterthought?)

I create time for it when I want to. Sometimes I play a lot and there are times I do other stuff and do not think about poker. But what has priority comes first

I think it takes a lot of practice juggling it all and u really have to be organized so your not always multi tasking while trying to play..I have a family, and work part time... I do play a lot of poker and like to play early in the day so I am not as tired.. I try to juggle everything and sometimes the weekend can get crazy but with some give and take and being totally organized I can usually play what and when I like to, even if I am folding laundry at the final table hahaha.. Good luck

I play online poker mostly for fun. I play poker when I have free time and I play poker when it`s time for a good tournament. When I think I can win a good tournament I organize some time. Also I like poker for relaxing.

Poker fits in my life because I have plenty of time on my hands. But tomorrow I'm going to do a little work with my step-dad and probably won't play all week. If I had a way to go, I would not play much during the week. So guess I'm going to be a weekend player. I probably will be pumped up for some games then.

Poker is entertainment, for fun. I usually play in my free time at evenings or whenever I find time that fits tournament.

Its changed so much over the years.
Back when I first hit the tables, I was off my head and putting in full days from the time I awoke. I still ate properly and did all the other stuff needed to help run a family And keep a house going, but apart from that it was all poker.
This year is different. Im only able to get a max of 4 hours and that all works around the CC games. Playing the world cup, teams league and the freerolls that are up on offer helps keep my motivated a have a poker schedule In the first place. I also play other tourneys so I can get in a session at the same time.

I normally try to play around 3-4 times a week, but it really depends on the week. I have no time on the weekends to play anymore, so I try to fit in some time after dinner on the weekdays. Work takes up a lot of time.

I am currently having a tough time finding the right moments to play in tourneys, as i have kids and a wife. My best time is morning time, once the kids are off to school. The problem is there are not many large tournaments like i want to play at that time for me as i live in the US. Cash games during those hours are definitely stacked with sharks and grinders and ppl playing stats mainly. So i basically dont really like to play at that time of day. The best tournaments are running from mid day to well after when my kids get home from school, so i find myself doing things around the house like making food, laundry, and homework stuffs while playing in multiple tournaments commonly. Which really limits my ability to read the table and make fair assessments on hands. Knowing this, i basically need to forfeit playing after 3 o' clock as i basically just end up shooting myself in the foot from lack of concentration.:) So that leaves me to playing late night tourneys after the kids are asleep, which i end up doing well in usually as i can give it my full attention. The night time tourneys usually have a considerably smaller player pool too, with smaller guarantees. So i commonly find myself in a pickle as to when i can actually devote myself to poker. I love the game so much though, and want to play everyday. So i usually find a game or two to play at any time of the day, and play as much as i can whenever i can find the time to do it.
Feels good to get that out, i have been really trying to figure out what to do lately, thanks so much for this post. It has helped me to figure out what the heck i need to do now.:D
