I am currently having a tough time finding the right moments to play in tourneys, as i have kids and a wife. My best time is morning time, once the kids are off to school. The problem is there are not many large tournaments like i want to play at that time for me as i live in the US. Cash games during those hours are definitely stacked with sharks and grinders and ppl playing stats mainly. So i basically dont really like to play at that time of day. The best tournaments are running from mid day to well after when my kids get home from school, so i find myself doing things around the house like making food, laundry, and homework stuffs while playing in multiple tournaments commonly. Which really limits my ability to read the table and make fair assessments on hands. Knowing this, i basically need to forfeit playing after 3 o' clock as i basically just end up shooting myself in the foot from lack of concentration.
So that leaves me to playing late night tourneys after the kids are asleep, which i end up doing well in usually as i can give it my full attention. The night time tourneys usually have a considerably smaller player pool too, with smaller guarantees. So i commonly find myself in a pickle as to when i can actually devote myself to poker. I love the game so much though, and want to play everyday. So i usually find a game or two to play at any time of the day, and play as much as i can whenever i can find the time to do it.
Feels good to get that out, i have been really trying to figure out what to do lately, thanks so much for this post. It has helped me to figure out what the heck i need to do now.
