Starting hand strategy in poker is one of the most basic and essential techniques one must master but aside from that we need to have strong mind and be brave . In poker tournaments we can not hammer our way to FT, agression is necessary .
But poker is complicated and
In every street the board will change .
Sometimes you go in with good cards and nothing shows on the board. This doesn't mean we should give up on it and we can often take it down with Cbet .
Well this makes me sweat and I don't really know how to deal with my fear of loosing when I'm bluffing or getting exposed at the table .

How do you deal with your fear and what do you replace it with ?

Common consensus will be that this means you're playing too high stakes and it's making you nervous or fearful to make a C-bet when you know it's correct (and also when you know some % of the time it will be met with a 3-bet or shove you have to fold to losing your c-bet money).

My online game improved immensely almost overnight once I started using C-bets more on missed flops esp in position. But I had to drop down stakes and let go of any fear of losing the hand and be prepared to fold to 3-bet shoves sometimes.

Another way to frame C-betting as valuable (even though we fear we'll get raised, floated, or miss and end up with A high) for long term play is that it gives us information. If we check/check a flop after raising pre flop we have no idea where we are at in the hand and thus have little idea what villian might hold. We sometimes have to use the C-bet to gain information (ie if they smooth call the c bet on a 2 to the flush board we may consider strognly they are on a flush draw whereas if they immediately shove they may have hit a set OR have made a pair with a redraw to another bigger hand). Information isn't often free so when you're afraid to fire off a C-bet when you know you should...use the information gained from how your opponent responds.

Fortune favors the brave.

If you want a big payday you will at some point have to gamble. If you are playing with fear you are either playing too high stakes or just need to learn to play without thinking of the money. Your goal is to make money but to be successful you have to block out the money. GL

Fear? Why be afraid when playing poker? Hmmm! Maybe fear of losing money. But if you sit at a table to play poker with fear, then you do not sit down. :)

Perhaps, just like that. The game is not bankroll or just an unusually expensive game - it causes such fear. This fear is like giving one hand at a price. You have to decide what you want from poker or from this hand, party, tournament ...

start playing according to your bankroll, for the money that you are not responsible, and who are ready to lose. The amount of money at the table should not be the meaning and purpose of your life. In the end, it's just bad for your health.

Fear when playing poker? I play for fun, to relax. If you play at your level, meaning you don't put more money that you can afford to lose and don't panic, I don't think fear can be involved

Fear is a big hindrance to poker, with fear, the game will not go well, you need to overcome it, you can distract yourself to music, and in general turn the thoughts in your head, because in reality there is no fear, maybe only the departure from which tournament , or the loss of a small amount of money, but it's also a trifle, because you knew what went on, it's excitement, it happens all.

there is some kind of pattern, about 2 good hands, and then 7-8 bad hands, even with AA you can lose, so my strategy is playing with good hands I do not go all in with AA until I see the flop, I play with good hands as soon as I start to play I make a break I miss 5-8 moves, then again I play, in each game a new strategy, even when I change the table, I play a new game, because the players are already different

you deal with fear by feeling the fear in the body...the tightness in the chest/head/stomach/neck/shoulders etc...

and you try and feel it without judging what is being felt...(by being stuck in your mind and wanting to get rid of the feeling)

the feelings themselves are nowhere as bad as what the mind thinks what its feeling...or the story...

i am an expert in anxiety, so if you have any questions, just ask my man :top:

I think fear itself it's not a bad thing .
After all it's one of our senses.
It is there for a reason .

Fear makes it difficult for you to play good poker games. One of the things that can frighten fear is to risk more wisely, calmly, patiently play in the right position at the table and enough analysis of the opponents and the game causes you to play more clarity and scares the fear

I often get that fear of loosing when I'm in the hand and I am really holding good cards but still beat by opponent.

So in a way it's trying to warn me. I believe it comes from the same place as your gut and 6th sense coming from .

True that .
But you can only be certain when you are holding the nuts . There is always a lil bit of doubt and fear for me.not all the time but only when im in tricky spots.

yes, because we want to control every situation and to know the outcome in advance...aka anxiety..

probably because we were taught to always think about the future, instead of being grateful for having this moment.

Do everything in position, and never be afraid to pull the trigger. Being willing to go all in on a draw heavy board with nothing, after betting it helps. It all comes down to bluffing well
