This is a question for anyone making their living solely through playing poker.

I always wondered: how do you manage your finances and bankroll? Do you keep them separate, and if so, how do you distribute your winnings between your bankroll and personal finances? Or is your bankroll your lifeblood?

Also, how do you deal with things like medical insurance and other benefits you'd normally get from an employer?

for the typical grinder you want to be giving yourself a realistic minimum profit per month and say for example profit 1k a week, 4k a month
then you want to address money for bills/tax/insurance and enough to get you by
so withdrawing 50% is the safest option on a monthly basis rolling over 2k from 4k
(lets say 2k in a month is a sub standard amount, some months you may make $3,200 depositable profit (rolling over 2k...

So for your bankroll at example for $1/$2 , your minumum roll over should be 2k if your never having losing months,
so if you have $6,000 withdraw $4,000 but bank 2k in your savings , this is a safer option.

in 6 months you will have $12,000 as a bankroll from rolling over $2,000 from your profit, aswell as your initial bankroll you started with,
You always have a cushion online - savings in your bank as back up and disposable income this way.
then twice a year you can review your additional cusion profit and maybe treat yourself or take a step up.

Important thing to remember is alot of players started off having staking especially on the big tournament scene, so poker at the world stage isn't always as it seem's
and any of these regular circuit stars will go through large dry spells which could cost them 100's of thousands most have sponsors and stakers - obviously -
