Hi there

Well here is what you could try? I would suggest you give a attempt at Micro stakes online. There's different rooms out there. Bovada, Americas Cardroom and pokerstars I think.

This would be my suggestion however I am not a pro. It is a dream of mine though. But Good Luck! The competition is very stiff online. And the players are actually considered better then live players (which I do not believe) Play within your "bankroll" and you can make income. If you go out of your bankroll I can almost guarantee you will go broke man. Good luck though. I'm in California the casinos are endless out here !!

I agree
..................
Yeah the best angle for you would be to start an online campaign.
It wouldn't matter what level you start at, just make sure you always stick strictly to a bankroll and see where you are after 6 months or so.

Really you think the majority of 200NL live players are just as skilled at the game as the majority of 200NL online players?

First realize you've chosen onehelluva tough way to make an easy living. I would ask why you want to do this. If it's because you have a dead end job that just plain SUX, you might be better off getting additional training/education and consider a new line of work. It'll be a helluvalot less stressful. Landlords and other bill collectors aren't gonna sympathize because you just had a month of massive runbad. That's gonna happen if you play long enough. You'll need enough 'roll to take care of expenses and have enough to play through the runbad. Jack "Treetop" Strauss could put the last of his 'roll on the table and still play his A game. Most players, most pros, can't

Don't give up your day job just yet.

Study, study, study ; play, play, play. Make certain you're really as good as you think you are and that you're not just fooling yourself. And keep studying and don't get into a rut where you're just on autopilot all the time.

You can try to play poker online. This way is good because you can use different training software that can help you to improve your skills such as leak buster, ace poker coach, ace poker drills and other. You have to train a lot and be really hardworking.

Actually you are correct imo. Online NL200 is more difficult then live 200NL. Grinders , HUD users and just a large sample size of players are online. So yes there are better players online.

There really isn't a way to turn pro. I guess if you make your living from playing poker you can consider yourself a pro.

Everyone has given poker suggestions, what about financial suggestions? How large a bankroll you need, where to find stakers, etc.

These are considerations that should not come into play until you can beat the game and the rake. First things first. :deal:

Cheers!

While on poker stars website, I read a some course work from poker school explaining the different ways of managing your bank roll and the percentage of financial income invested by different skill levels of poker players ie. amateur, intermediate, pros etc. Perhaps you can check there for further information.
However, in my opinion, one must learn to play the game competently before investing large capital or aiming to make poker a source of financial income. E.g, if you do not believe that you are at pro level then you are not ready to go large with investment. Take the advice given in the forum so far and start small, then, gradually move up when you are winning and confident in your development.

Play online or find a local casino / underground club.

Try meetup.com and look for clubs in your area, or go to the casino and ask people around for games.

Exactly, this is good advice.
Besides the poker skills, develop your 'patience/perseverance/insight'.

You have to be one of the best players of the world and win a lot of tournaments and play live with the best players at EPT LAPT wsop and tournaments online like WCOOP TCOOP or Sunday millions , you have to be a great poker player to be a pro it is no easy but it isn't impossible

I would consider a pro somebody who provides for themselves solely through poker, or at least largely subsidizes their income with poker. A pro should be playing at least 4 days a week live and your poker roll should be pretty substantial. Like if your poker roll was 26,000$ (not your life roll) and you were crushing the 2/5 games in AC I think I would consider you a pro.

They are out there.
