How do I break a cold run? I've had a rough week or 2 just getting beat down. I recently started studying GTO theory and trying to be better than an avg rec player that I am.It went well for the first few months. Cold runs for a couple days tops then right back no problems. However this run has not ended and i noticed earlier this week its changing the way I play. I'm playing scared and getting knocked around worse then ever. I got on such a bad run where I was losing on positive EV plays that I've subconsciously have gone full NIT.

Anyone been here and made it out the other side? Could certainly use some advise.

Micros. It's not so much the money. It's just losing and letting it snowball by letting go of so many good hands. People showed up with JQ to my top 2 pair with a 10 river to many times this month and now I'm scared. "Scared money don't make money." My favorite casino reg said to me years ago at my local dive.

Scared money is playing with money you can afford to play with. You should never play with money you cant afford to loose. I don't think micro stakes is going to break you.

I must say first I'm considered a rigtard but i do decent in live play. Rivers happen in live play too. One of the biggest leaks recreational players have is chasing. Specially them online players that step up to the cash tables. Online big hands hit all the time. Live two pair is a hell of a hand. Almost a waste of time playing with top pairs online. You have played long enough you know. Online you have few tells. Might get lucky and find one in a player betting habits. You might be able to play the player but hell most of them at micros don't know what your representing or even if they got a real hand. So play those good hands to the river. cant win if you don't finish. Just don't call pair of twos to the river in hopes of a set like a lot of them do.

Invest in software. I think its a matter of time that stuff will be banned. Cutting tables down to just four is just a way to ease these hud players away from grinding like a machine. Lets see how well they do then.

patience, study and perseverance friend, if you despair your negative streak will be greater and regarding playing with fear I think it is normal in these situations, when you regain a little confidence it will be better.

A few ideas, play lower stakes, do some poker quizzes to see if you fundamentals are a bit off, analyse your hand history to see if you maybe any bad plays or if it was bad luck.
