How do you beat somebody that appears to be lucky?

Let's say you are at the final table, or in a cash game the "Lucky Player" gets his cards no matter what.

On the flop, turn, or river that player has hit the last ten hands. I've seen it happen and there were times I've been that player.

So, the question is two parts.

How do you beat luck?

How do you become lucky?

Here is how I do it.

First I see the cards coming, I visualize them appearing. Second, I have a lucky silver dollar and lady liberty is one one side and when I need some luck I turn that side up.

Your secrets.....

I normaly pay for luck. You give the lucky player alot of money then in a few hundred or some time thousands or so hands they ship you the good luck.
Edit real players know this is not variance we pay for our luck right? :)

This is such a stupid post. Luck is a part of the game but u cant change your game according to it like laying down a hand which u normally would play because the "lucky" player raised pre flop....imo

If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

On the flip side, I've no idea how to deal with someone appearing to be lucky all the time, seems the norm from what I've seen lol.

u have to be able to identify the times when ur the favorite.

then you need a bankroll that is large enough to let u get past the times the odds are in ur favor but ur opponent gets "lucky" on u.

if u have a bankroll that is large enough, in order to let probability help ur bankroll ur gonna have to win or lose nearly the same amount with the that specific hand everytime. So don’t move up levels and also pick a similar buy in everytime u play.

u have to learn/know how to play hands that are favs. if ur losing more money with a certain hand thats a fav over a extended time, ur probably having this problem. This is where ur poker tracking software helps. It can tell u exactly how much ur losing with a specific hand and u can review certain hands to see if u were the fav during every street til the end of a hand.

Doyle Brunson is quite famous for saying that good players make their own luck. I think what he means is that though there are times when others catch a case card or win a longshot with runer-runner, ultimately experience and knowledge prevail, oftentimes under the guise of luck.

In online poker I will yelll and throw my cheap chips across the room. That is what helps me calm down. At live poker I will take a huge deep breath and exhale loudly, almost as if I am blowing up a balloon. Then I walk away from the table for a few minutes.

1. Keep the Ace of Spades up your sleeve
2. When you go all in, yell, "Hold, please!" or "One time!" That usually helps.

It's the balance of nature.
If people knew how long it has been since I got lucky in the bedroom they wouldn't be so offended when I beat'em at the poker table.

Simply put, when a player is on a run like that, just get out of the way! Doesn't matter how you play the hands if your opponent is in a "zone" and keeps getting the cards he needs. The worst thing is to get sucked into thinking you'll go all-in on good cards, because you'll likely get burned by his crappy cards.

The best way to deal with players with luck is to stay away from them until their luck run out. I learn from plenty of mistake from calling these players. It the only way to beat these guys. Remember that luck do run out.
