This is a discussion on How to choose the best poker player? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; Friends what should we look at to choose the best poker player? Amount of money won, tournaments won, how many times have you cashed, etc?
If you speak if players from the same generation you can use money won or bracelets. If we speak about players from different generations the only way to make accurate comparison is to count the time for which the player was able to play on top level. If somebody managed to be at top level for 20, 30, 40 or 50 years that is the most serious achievement that you can think of.
It depends. You can be a good player, but you might not have played in big tournaments (with big cash prizes). Some of the best have backers who give them lots of money to play so they have more opportunities. Maybe a consistency in winning and small loses?
