How to Beat Tilt?

Would like to know ur innovative ideas that u have put in place to put tilt in control.
for ex : whenever i run very deep in a touney , i start seating 5 feet away from my computer. so that FIRST i can decide how/why/what i want to play and then click buttons...worked for me for a while but once i started multi tabling..this trick was no longer feasible !

tilt is the downfall of many poker players. normally I end up taking a couple beats or coolers at the cash tables within a short amount of time. this is what normally triggers me. when it happens I normally end up at the NL100 tables and proceed to give away a weeks worth of grinding at NL10/25 in a matter of a few hours. I have been able more recently to sitout of my tables and take 30 mins away from the computer to clear my head and reset.

For me one more halp can be music, light and easy.

I like to instead of going up in stakes, go as far down as possible, and then play extremely recklessly for a while.

You get it out of your system and it doesn't cost you very much in comparison - also it is kinda fun, so I can see why others play this way.

I think if you're in the tilt then you are much mistaken.you need to play the tournament and to take a short break.I did notice that if the player loses the floor of the Bank he begins to make big bets to get their money back.and he's not looking his hand.in the end, he loses the entire pot. so you need to be as calm as possible and to control your thoughts. to rest between tournaments.to watch videos on YouTube and listen to music

I do the obvious but hardest thing: If I've lost two hands out of the last four where I think I should have won, and I lost some chips or value, I shut it down. Walk away. Play a video game or do some chores.

If I continue playing when I'm escalated about two recent bad beats, I know I'm more likely to play more aggressively. And that means more losses. If it's a tournament, especially a freeroll, I decide how much time I want to put into it. If little, I go all in on the next decent hand. If I'm willing to hang in and I still have a stack, then I sit back for a bit and only play the premium hands. After all, I assume that I have been creamed because I've been playing predictably. So I play really tight for a bit, or until I'm moved to a new table.

But if I'm playing for cash, I simply get up and walk away when I'm annoyed at the beats.

I like to study and practice meditation and audio therapy.

For sure I find that the best way to beat tilt is to analyze the hand which has pushed me over the edge. I find it instantly calming when i look back at a hand and find a point where I should have made a different play or read a villains range more accurately. If how ever after analysis I conclude that I've played the hand like a god and still went bust usually my laptop suffers another dent or I'm desperately searching the house for a picture i can hang over a huge hole in my wall before the mrs sees .

Apart from this when i find myself tilting I'm often honest with myself and stop altogether, take a walk or do something completely different. Usually after 20mins or so while i'm still annoyed at the out come i'm much less distressed about it.

Also try and remember that its usually a bad beat which pushes us to being the red eyed monster! A bad beat generally means you played the hand properly/correctly and so 9 times out of 10 you would be making a profitable decision.

Actually sometimes I can not control myself after several tilt at the tables this makes me throw up my bankroll a lot when I learn to control this tilt more I think I'll be better at the tables.

In that case you need a break, like the one you discribe. Maybe you were tired and it was translated to tilt. Rest, be as calm as you can and be patient.

take a good desicion...dont into panic...when you enter tilt .. try to see what the reason ... maybe a bad bet a bad play .. try to control yourself and when you know that you are on tilt .. leave it ... you have something else

Without tilt in poker can not do. Even great players fall into tilt. Just need to be calm about this.

Tilt is one pain in the ass. But I can over come tilt the problem I have is I like mtt but have the patience to last 3/4 hours is a struggle.

On tilt right now ahahaha. Just went in with AA guy calls with A9. two nines come up on the board. So frustrating sometimes!! Poker is a love hate relationship!

When I am on tilt it's always great just to walk away for a bit and do something else. Calm down and regain focus and approach the table with a calm cool demeanor. Otherwise every decision you make will be questionable.

Tilt is very frustrating for me. I wish I could determine what causes my tilt. How do I best identify the cause of my tilt?

Poker is played move per move of the hand in cash games and move per move of the tournament NOT hand per hand ever. Tilt is inappropriate.Excuse yourself get a buffet or walk laps.

If your listening to music just relax and sing along with it.

Stay awhile out, relax, cool your head, and come back focused.

If I can't control myself I get up and just to walk away.

My suggestion for overcoming your tilt issues is to read Jared Tendler's book The Mental Game of Poker. Read the book work through the things he talks about in his book and I promise you will be able to not only deal with your tilt but also have a better overall mental approach to poker.

Once you have lost to as many 1 and 2 outers I have over the years you will be tilt proof.

All I can do now is laugh and say " nice hand", then forget it and move on. Poker is a bitch man

Just stop playing until your mind becomes cold as ice cream.
