Is Hold'Em more of a skill than, say, 5 card draw?

Someone told me that poker is just a game of chance, no different than Lotto, Bingo, or roulette. I said there's more to it. Pot odds, pot equity, wager sizing, etc.

For people who have never played Hold'em, do you think they are thinking of "poker" as the old game where you get 5 cards, trade in all non-face cards, and hope for the best? That always did seem like lucky Bingo, and that's why I never liked Poker until Hold'em came around after Moneymaker.

Hold'em is a lot different than 5 car draw, right?

i think both games have different types of skill. for example in 5 card game you can do snowing, which is stand pat with a bad hand to pretend you hit a monster ( at least a straight), in holdem you can bluff, or semi bluff.
The most important difference between both types of game are the community cards and the types of bet you realise with those cards. imo holdem requires more skill than 5 card draw because you have a lot of information from your opponents ( 5 of 7 cards), and in 5 card draw you need luck in the draw and this
doesnt require much of a skill.
