Is Hold'Em more of a skill than, say, 5 card draw?
Someone told me that poker is just a game of chance, no different than Lotto, Bingo, or Roulette
. I said there's more to it. Pot odds
, pot equity, wager sizing, etc.
For people who have never played Hold'em, do you think they are thinking of "poker" as the old game where you get 5 cards, trade in all non-face cards, and hope for the best? That always did seem like lucky Bingo, and that's why I never liked Poker until Hold'em came around after Moneymaker.
Hold'em is a lot different than 5 car draw, right?
