Anyone watched the first 2 episodes of the new season? Personally, i'm glad that the show is back on and hopefully we'll see some sick poker this season. I watched the first episode last week and am currently watching the 2nd episode. Go Negreanu!

Yep I watched them. HSP is my favorite poker show. Durrrr is soooo lucky online and on TV.

Haven't you guys heard, getting AA and 42 to fold on a 2T27 board is luck. HSP is rigged in favour of him, no doubt.

Haha. I doubt it. They are all using quite a bit of their own money. I don't think it's completely their money, though, or they wouldn't want to do it with cameras on them.

Yes, probably he is... But did you see the hand he played (holding QT) against Barry Greenstein (holding AA) and Peter Eastgate (holding 42) with a flop 2T2?
The way he played that hand cannot be explained just saying that he is lucky.

Damn Yoru I didn't see that hand...You're not saying he won are you? If he got them off those hands with some sort of chicanery then he must be unreal.

On another note: HSP is the best poker show on TV! So glad they're back for another season. Gabe Kaplan ftw!

Yeah I watched them too. Personally it was just ok. I hope the next few sessions are alot better. The 1st 2 are good but not epic by any means.

Yes, he won... And I think he played that hand very well. He put pressure over Eastgate at turn with a big bet. Eastgate in my opinion is playing with "scary money" and probably put durrrr in A2 and folded; after that Greenstein made a more reasonable lay down. If he called there then probably he had in mind a shove in the river from durrr. If Greenstein didn't feel comfortable with his hand at turn was a good lay down (a tight one, but good) because the river card probably wouldn't help him (just two outs to improve his hand).
Durrrr played the hand very aggressive but finally taken the pot with the worst hand.

They use their own money, but they're paid $1200 (according to Daniel N.) an hour to play on TV.

He's lucky and aggressive. I can't believe Peter folded that hand. It's like when he got JC to fold the full house on the Premier League (what JC thought Tom had quads, please!). If it was anyone else (Daniel, Doyle, Eli, etc.), they would have called instantly.

i used to watch it but now i dont get the channel its on, so booooo. i would love to see them though, those guys play some sic poker at that high limit. i think i do recall a hand daniel lost a few seasons ago where he had quads and lost to gus's higher quads i believe. Im not 100% sure if it was gus but i think it was those two and a horrible beat daniel took.
Is there any other way to see these episodes besides on tv? also which players are on this season so far?

I think you can watch them on youtube, pokertube, and the GSN homepage.

I really like High Stakes Poker and was glad that Dan Harrington recommended watching it in regards to learning cash game play. He did say however that the play isn't exactly like a high stakes cash game in a casino because the cameras are rolling and that occasionally influences a player to make a bolder than usual decision.

I much prefer HSP to PAD anyday. I like the bigger tables...more action. Much more fun to see the banter they have on their too....it's hilarious. Definitely the best poker show on tv right now.

I think they need to release this show on DVD so more of us could watch it who dont Have GSN, just like World Poker Tour needs to bring out more seasons on dvd also. Plus they could do like extras where players discuss that hand they played and stuff like that

HSP - 3/14 Show

Nothing much going on here, except Doyle losing even more money to Dwan on the sidebet about Eastgate's hand. Poor DN, quads take all his money once again although there's no way he should have called, let alone gone all in, after DB made that turn bet.

I'm tired already of Greenstein and Eli, time to get rid of them and bring in some new players. I guess DN is staying, he was getting $200k from Eli at the end of the episode.

They did mention yet another Dwan/Greenstein hand next week, maybe this time Dwan will take all his money.

DN was borrowing money from durrr actually hehe, durrr must be sickeningly rich.

ditto. BUT above all the mistakes he made what hurt me most was the amateurish comment he made after the jack hit on the turn on akq board with eli, and just gave up like a fresh fish :(

also pointing out Eastgate's overbet mistake was really unethical.
