I think you guys might get a kick out of this. When I started this tourny I lost about half my chips right off the bat. I thought I might be playing a bit quick so I took a little stick'em and stuck it on my computer screen where my cards come up. I didn't lift it and look at my cards until it was my play. It forced me to watch how the other's were betting and not just to play my cards. Seemed kind of silly when I first started but you can't argue with the results.

Good idea, when im playing live i NEVER look at my cards until its my turn to act, i concentrate on looking for tells, and watch the betting patterns. Well done on the win.

What a great practice. I will have to keep this in mind the next time I try my hand at the casino...

Great job Alon!

I do the same thing Tenbob. One other thing I do is never look at the flop right away. I watch the other players faces while it comes out. Congrats on the win Alon.

Nice one Alon, i dont look at my cards either, its auto at this stage, but what makes me laugh sometimes is that my mind can be elsewhere and i dont even look to see If i can get tells, missing the whole point of the action. Also (maybe my telling skills are crap) i'm looking around and thinking to myself 'is that a tell, no he does that all the time' ect.

But not looking at the flop and watching everyone's reaction is a great one for reads. Because people get so excited if they hit the board they forget to mask their feelings. Its a great time to get tells.
