well maybe ur being to tight in the early and mid positions thus ur not accumulating enough chips to last deep
try loosening it up during the mid stages of the tourny
raise with more hands that u normally wont raise with and continue with this aggressive play late into the tourny
but dont get into a stage of mindless aggression, raise only like 3*bb and with drwings hands and not garbage like 4 9o

Difficult to really give advice without knowing all the conditions prior to being eliminated. We can assume and only suggest what you problem might me.

Well, tourneys have 1000-5000 players, they all also want the final table.

Only 9 can make it to FT, so its not surprising really that you havnt made it right?

My opinion is, you are making the money - its only a matter of time before you get final table.

The realistic goal of a tourney is not to win, but to place in the money. If you are running so hot that you can get to final table, so be it. You can play your A+++ game and still fail miserably - no real technique to achieving an FT.

^^^^^^^ i disagree with that, the main idea of a tourny in my opinion is too win, not to place in the money. If you try and place in the money you will only pick up small cashed every so often, while when you go for the win, you can bust out of hte money 19 times in a row, but then if you win it by going for the win, you make up for all those losses. By going for the win you run deeper more often and pick up bigger cheques

well i seem to do alright with the big tournys, but another factor you have to consider is that when the blinds get outrageuous and you simply cannot catch a hand ur up the creek without a paddle anyway, but try to play alot of hands in the beginning, and then slow down just a lil bit, as the tourny progresses, thats what i do.

Example: 304 players remain out of 1556 players.

Top 180 get paid, you are 265/304.

Big stack: 45000

Average stack size: 12000

Your stack: 2560.

You would play for final table, realistically from this position? I just dont see it happening here.... you would need to run like the sun to get that. I would play survival here and go to place in the money....

I never expect to win a huge MTT everytime you play thats just, not realistic.

u dont expect to win u try to win
u dont try to make money u should try to win
and in ur example if u double up 3 times ur at 20K so if u look at it like that,ur not really that big an underdawg altho ur damn low on chips {expecially if it is deep stack}

Well at this stage your stack is probably that low because you werent playing for the win earlier in the tourny, with a stack like that you probably arent going to make the money anyway, so therefore if you shove a few hands and build a stack quickly, then you can look for the win again
