Help. I've been locked out

Hey all.

I play at partypoker and had built up a nice bankroll there (for my standards anyways) yet when I tried to sign in today it said my account has been frozen. I don't have any other accounts at PP, but I do play all my poker at my university computer labs because I don't have the net at home, so I think that might have something to do with it.

party poker will not re-open my account, they phoned me and I verified my details and everything yet they still didn't open it back up.

Can anyone help me out here, I'd like to get my money back (as you veterans know its a hassle for me getting money online for poker as it is!)

Anyone had something like this happen before, or know anyone I can talk to in regards to this??

At a minimum, PP should have at least told you why the account is frozen. What did they say?

They said IP conflict, which I think has something to do with me playing on University computers which I'm guess is becausethey are all linked up or something, I'm no computer whiz so I dunno.

Well, one alternative you could try would be to use a friend's home computer. Dowload/install PP on their computer and try to log in with your account. If it fails, which it should if it is truly locked, then contact support and see what they say about helping you.

And if they throw techie jargon at you that you don't understand, ask for an explanation and for what you need to do to resolve the issue satisfactorily. (Hint: Don't tell them that it might be to take all of your money out of their crappy site, as they will be less inclined to help you.) Most support people are trying to do the right thing and often times it comes down to trying to protect their players. I'd be really surprised (well maybe not, it is PP afterall) if they didn't work with you to resolve the issue.

Say what you want about PP, but the players act like they're allergic to money, and that's why I love playing there.

This is true, but I've never had this sort of problem before (I've played at Full Tilt and pokerstars)

Hassle the support donkeys via e-mail, phone etc until you get through to management (with Party, 'management' means someone who isn't in an Indian call centre, can perhaps speak some semblance of English and if you're very lucky might be vaguely helpful).

The reason your account is locked has to do with external IP's. Most schools, some businesses etc, have internal IP addresses, but all traffic passing outside to the "internet" shows up as the same IP address. This means that assuming 10 people at your school play from the labs on PP, then all 10 people look like they are coming from the same IP *ALERT ALERT*

I dont know what the resolution to this is. It is one of those unavoidable things that an online poker site might not like.

I sent in my id to verify my account and they received and still refuse to give back my money or even unlock my account.

I'm just giving up, they can have my money. I'm just going to start all over again on World Poker Exchange from the free-rolls up.

Party Poker is shit.

I could have told you that. I uninstalled it from my computer.

it's collusion prevention bro. from their end it looks like you and like 50 of your friends are playing at your house. if you go near a game that someone else plays or has played, they can freeze your account to investigate how you play together.

They froze my account a while back because they said I wasnt who I said I am. sent them a copy of my ID and it was still no good. Got my money out eventually.

It's also to stop you getting their sign-up bonuses multiple times. I set up another account at Party when I'd just started playing, because I wasn't allowed in the beginners' room any more and I kept losing at the regular tables. I managed to set the second account up OK but they phoned me immediately to say I couldn't have two accounts, and why had I done it. I said it was because I used PokerTracker and wanted a different screen name so I could differentiate between my current efforts and those when "I wasn't any good". (This was true, at least it was one of the reasons.) They asked which I wanted to shut down and I said the first one, which was fine because I could play the beginners' room again for a few weeks. Then I set one up on Empire Poker, which at the time had the same software as Party (still does) but had separate tables... then it was bought up by Party and uses the same tables. Later on I wanted to play play-money Sit and Goes, so set up another account, as Party makes it really difficult to play play-money S+Gs from a real money account. I soon converted this account to real money so I could go on the beginners' rooms again, using a different credit card, address, and DOB (devious huh?).

So I actually have 4 Party IDs. Don't use any of them though. Party sucks ass!
